i went out with about 10 guys yesterday all on 4 wheelers that were practically brand new. mabye a few 1 year old. good mix of 2 and 4wd. grizzlys, polaris something 700,kawi twin 700(looked wicked fast) a drz 400 and a 300ex and 1 older polaris 500 trailboss. i am the only guy on 3 wheels. i am giving up at least 50cc and usually a few hundred cc's and a cylinder so i was a bit worried about keeping up. boy was i wrong. we were on old train track that had been removed so it was a lot of gravel and miles of whoops. i just stood up , leaned back and pegged it the whole time.
now granted i got pounded quite a bit more with limited suspension but i was keeping right up with them. their speed was limited by the whoops so we were at a constant 45-50 the whole time. water crossings and mud were great 4 me too. all in all it was wonderful to see a 20 year old machine do so well.
honda should be proud

I know exactly what you mean> I had one a couple years back and I mean you could really beat that thing up, It would not quit! It used to keep up with my 91' warrior very well. I can recall this one water crossing behind the house It was the back part of a lake, I could never make it through with that warrior- it always bogged down and died in the deepest section-But I never ever had a problem with the ole sx, man, I miss that bike

i felt bad for the two on the little sport quards(drz and 300ex) on this one long icy muddy water crossing. it was an average of about muffler deep and they were all over the place spinning tires and throwing themselves around trying to get traction. they finally get through and everyone looks at me as i'm last. well i pop it into 2nd and chug right through with out getting up or any of the dramatics,
it was beautiful.

of course the guy on the big kawi made me feel a bit slow when i was wide open and he went blowing by me at what looked like 70mph!! that thing sounded mean.
