hey
need a quick fix on a john deere snowmobile the throttle cabel snapped do any of u guys now how to rig so it will work??

dose it have the plunger style carb set up or the one where you have to put the cabel through a thing and tighten it down and its attached to a butterfly like a car, if its the second one you can get away with a bike cabel :p

What he said. You'll probably need to replace the cable. If its the plunger type you will have to unscrew the top of the carb and then rewire a new cable onto the slide. If its the butterfly type (I'm guessing it is, many old sleds are) just tie on to the "butterfly" with something you can use to regulate the throttle

Hell, even fishing line (good berkley line or spider wire not cheap junk) or snare wire or copper wire, actually some non-flux core MIG wire would be ideal, just anything that will stay tight and not break.
