just installed a 2.5" tach on my quad! took pics while it was idleing. even the backlight works.

pretty easy. 4 connections, bend and mount the bracket. then after checking that it worked, i sealed it with silicone. tach was only $36. just have to find the right wires to connect to.

how gard was it. i would like to install one on my atv. where did you start with the wiring. i have almost the same tach. i believe mine has 4 wires. any info would be great. thanx g

installed it on my polaris 400 2 stroke.

i attached:

red to switched 12v
black to ground
white to head lighting 12v
the green (trigger wire) connected to the rpm signal going to rev limiter (not cdi or coil), coming off of stator.

tach on 4cyl setting.

anyone looking to install on a polaris 400 2 stroke, email me and i'll send specific directions on connecting to wire harness.
