Went to see my doc yesturday after a weeks worth of pain I thought was from a pulled muscle, turns out its probably a torn rotator cuff. My doc schedueled me for a mri for tuesday so they can determine how bad it is and which specialist I need to see. I waited a week because I've pulled a few muscles and usually doesn't hurt after a week but this time it intensified severly. My doc was pretty cool, got me in the same day I called. Anyone else done this to your shoulder?

Yes, and its never completely recovered, and has limited range of motion. Sometimes they can correct it with surgery if treated early, but after several years, there is not much you can do other than work it to where you get some benefits from strengthening the parts that remain undamaged.

I say I have done the same thing. It screwed up my sleep habits for 6 months. Mine wasnt bad enough for surgery, but it took about 6 months before the pain finally went away, and as Tim Sr. said It never fully heals(at least mine hasnt yet and its been 3 years).

I tore my rotator cuff in a bad mt. bike crash. I had to have surgery to repair it. I was in a sling for like 4 months and had to do 3 months of physical therapy. I have about 97% of range of motion and strength back. The physical therapy really helped a lot. It’s a bad injury to get.

They gave me 2 MRI's today, one on my neck and then on my shoulder. I should hear from my doc in a couple days so I can find out how long before I can ride again. I think I have 2 months before the first flat track race.
