6. Honda 250R --------------------------> 31srwhp / 329lbs = 0.0942 horsepower per pound

A 250R weighs in at 291lbs. I assume they mean the TRX but I thought the TRX actually weighed more than 329. Edit: and HOJ states the hp at 39 but I don't know what srw stands for. Different measurement technique?

i noticed that too .has to be the trx , too bad they didnt do the atc 250r, as well as the tri-z and t-3, heck, it would be nice to have every one made on the chart

Do you know if that weight is right for a TRX? I'm impressed if that's all they weigh.

And any idea on the descrepency between these hp numbers and Hondas?

i dont know, billy or tim sr. should know, some numbers are high, but alot are low, i have noticed they all are within 3-4 hp from what the factory states, but the r, i know the first year zilla (87) has 53-55hp, and the later years are 51-53 hp, the intake track is larger that year (87) ..hate to feel the rush of that powerwheels thingy!!! :D

IDK, from my experience I'd say it's not the first two.

Those are probably rear wheel horse power numbers measured on a dyno where as Honda gave out the engine horsepower numbers.

If you use HOJ's specs the R is ahead of the 'zilla. If you use 31 hp instead it's in second place. Not sure the specs on the other water pumpers.

39hp: 0.1340
31hp: 0.1065

Me thinks... srw = Stock Rear Wheel.
Yah I think the TRX's are almost that light, cause they sure dune like no other! :beer

The hp listed in the chart is either for an 83/84 R or it's listed incorrectly. All stock
85-89 water pumper R's have the same approximate 39hp whether they're an ATC or TRX (same motor).

Thats been around forever .... alot of it isn't spot on correct. For example: the 350X only having 21hp - the factory manual states 28hp. Even if you were to take away shaft hp to rear wheel - you wouldn't loose that much unless the brake was on. Now as for the DS650 goes - Rotax claims 48hp on the motor, the chart only lists 39hp - to loose 9 horsepower from just a 90 direction change is just plain absurd - thats nearly a 20% power loss.
Those are probably rear wheel horse power numbers measured on a dyno where as Honda gave out the engine horsepower numbers. Thats what SRWHP stands for ....... Stock, Rear Wheel Horsepower.
