Odd 89 suzuki headlight problem

I just picked up a 89 suzuki quadsport lt 250s. Its a nice bike and needs some tcl and a few things before its really sound. MY headlight is somewhat dim when the bike is idling and even revving the engine, but when i pull the clutch cable in, it gets brighter for a second, and just dims back down.

I am assuming its a bad ground somewhere, but I would like to know what you guys think it could be.
