Ok here's the deal. Over the winter I installed an alarm system on my trike. All was peaceful, no false alarms or anything like that. That was until the weather warmed up and a groundhog decided to make a home under my shed, directly under my trike. Now the damn alarm keeps going off, I'm guessing because of all the digging the little http://www.gunsnet.net/forums/images/smilies/censored.gif is doing. I live in the city and don't get to do a lot of backdoor hunting other than with a pellet gun. Well, since the little http://www.gunsnet.net/forums/images/smilies/censored.gif is anything but little, a pellet isn't going to do anything but piss it of or maybe wound it. So, I've decided that I'm going to bend/break the rules/law. I figure one shots not going to attract much attention. Most of my neighbors are gun owners and are guilty of popping a few rounds off now and then. That said...
What's It going to be? RUGER 45, AK 47, or SKS? http://www.gunsnet.net/forums/images/smilies/conf44.gif Help me decide.
Will photograph the crime scene :D :naughty:

Just make a trap and when he comes in you snag it in a noose. Just check it once in a while so it doesnt stink in there after it dies. How about that shoe box type trap except that you use the trike and prop it on a stick. Hog eats bait under the wheel and you pull the string dropping the trike (instead of the shoe box) right on it. End of problem

Ill, ever smell rotten groundhog? Last summer after planting my "victory garden". One of those little buggers dug under the chicken wire and ate all my veggies. after many failed attemps at knockin him off, I finally Got a little .22 with a scope. that is all you need. Just make sure it is a safe shot because a ..22 will travel very far.

I'd use a 105 Howitser to just level the whole area. That would make sure none of his buddies get any dumb ideas in the future. But I'd move the shed and trike first.

I say you take off and nuke the site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

Better tell the neighbors about the nuke first, though.

Wow, there wasn't a whole lot of interest in this 4 months ago when this thing was driving me crazy.

Update: He decided to go elsewhere after the forth of July. I'm sure he's still around the area, but I doubt he can hear. If he comes back I've decided on taking him out with the bow from a tree stand. It would be a lot safer considering I live in the city, and I got a new tree stand that I need to test before deer season.
If that don't work I have this flamethrower that's just dying for some attention. :D

I kill Wood chucks with a pellet rifle. Catch them in a foot trap and shot them point blank.

Here's another idea that works (with ants anyways). Fill the hole with oxyacetylene gas for a couple of minutes then light off. In this case--remotely. You WILL go flying. The ants were at least a couple of feet underground and many attempts to find the queen were made. Soo..I went osama all over them. The ground raised up about 2 inches when I lit it right under me for a whole meter in diameter. Gas was still exploding 10 minutes later so you wanna make sure there are no gas, sewer, water pipes or buried cable under there. They never came back! :w00t:
