I am trying to remove the clutch lock nut and am having a hard time with this. It appears to be on rather tight or I am trying to remove incorrectly. Is it removed by turning it to the left like most other parts or is it right hand thread and needs to be removed by turning it to the right? I have the right tool that holds the center clutch so I can put some torque on it. Any help would be appreciated.

Use a impact wrench. Prob whats giving you hell is the spot on the lip of the nut that you hit with a punch to help hold the nut in position. If you can get something in there and pry it up it will prob then come loose.
