Hi, I have a 2005 Limited Edition Predator and i need some help. Could anyone tell me what the HP is. I would think i would have more than a normal predator being this one came with a pure polaris pipe on it and i was told that the pipe is a white brothers pipe but polaris puts their name on it? I Would also like to know what i could do to it to make it faster bottom end wise. I Have raced a few 450r's and at the start of the race they pull away from me about a bike length but once i get into 3rd gear i catch up and pull away from them. Also how do you think i would do if i raced a yfz450 if i ever run into one. When we race we race on a back road around 200 yds or less?
Any help Would be great. This is my first four wheeler and my first four stroke...
Thanks Mike H

From what I've gathered, the regular '05 Predators pump out about 50hp. This is from bits and pieces of information either read, seen online or from talking to my local dealer. The '03/4's were rated at 42. The most compelling evidence of this is from the power to weight ratio claim of .12 found on Polaris's website http://www.polarisindustries.com/en-us/ATV/2006Models/HighPerformance/Predator500/Comparisons.htm. 49.8hp divided by 415lbs = .12. You are correct about the Pure Polaris pipe being a White Bro's. Off the line, its going to be tough to beat any of the 450's because they are that much lighter. You could drop a tooth on your output shaft sprocket to steepen your acelleration - however, it depends on your riding style and area. If you drag mostly or are in the woods and don't mind losing 5 mph or so from the top, drop the sprocket. I would also probably open up the airbox and re-jet too.

Friend of mine that has an 05 TLE Predator with a slip on pure polaris pipe and open K&N fillter. Was on the dyno at 48.8 hp at 3,200 ft elevation. They dynoed it about 25 times that day to get peak hp. Since then he sent the carb to Iowa to some hot hod polaris place and they modified the crap out of it. It hasn't been on the dyno since then but it made a huge difference.
