well, i am looking into getting a bike next spring, and i would much prefer either a 125 or 250 2 stroke crotch rocket style bike than anything else, which is where my problem is. its impossible to find them...i dont know where to go, i cant find crap on the search engines and ebay is crazy! can anyone help me???

Most of the 250cc (like the tz250) that I am aware of started life as a race bike and were converted to be street legal (can be some red tape involved). Iv'e gotten the impression that most were imported from Japan. Bikes like the rz's are easier to find, and eaisier to register.

i had one when i was stationed in itally it was a honda, i dont remember the exact model but it was a late 80's model and it had pretty much the same motor that the cr had. it really wasnt that fast either my harley would smoke it.i think the only one that makes a 2stroke crotch rocket is aprilla. dont buy one if your looking for something fast because the deffinetly arent.also bikes that are bought in europe are not american specs so the have to be converted unless you buy one from the company that is already done.i would kinda of imagine that one of those bikes would be pretty hard to get in the states good luck.

actually i have a friend that lives in italy and he has an aprilia rs125, mainly because you can only have up to 125cc's until you are 19 i think...he said it does 70 or so...im not lookking for speed, just something unique, cool and half decent on gas....i would love one of the 2 strokers from the 70's or early 80's like RZ's RD's kawasaki triples or anything, its just so hard to find any 2 stroke bike around, especially here...

when i looked at the power of those 750 2 strokes i was amazed that they wern't any more powerful than that, the 750 triple has like 62 hp.... thats not so hot, that thing aughta scream... im sure theey can be woke up a little.... i would have gotten that one in the paper until i found out how weak they were, so im waiting on a 70's kawi 900 with 100 or so hp stock, they had that bike on the discovery channel with the busa

I have a '77 RD400 but have been looking for a nice 250 for a while. Sounds like you need to do some more research and find out what it is you want. The later model street 250's have like 65 hp which is respectable and with some porting and expensive pipes around 80 hp can be gotten. I like the latest model Yamaha TZR250 which are the v-twin w/ powervalve. Look on ebay for tzr, nsr, rgv, and whatever else you like. There are guys in Japan that sell and ship to the *.S. Some of them can get it to you with a title ready to go. You may also get the title yourself...there are ways. Keep searching the net and you will learn more about them.

Check out this site, it is all 2-strokes.

that bike is sweet, the 750's are ugly to me, i found that the 750 triple 2 stroke had only 65 hp, whats the deal with that?! if the 250 had 65?
