stuck for an answer

i got an 1983 honda 185s,i had fire then lost it .the previos owner replaced stators 2 times and it worked.if it is the problem,why is it blowing them and is there a way to test them.i would greatly appreciate some help.
truly a honda fan but very frustrated one.

He may have replaced it with used units that were already almost to the service limit.. can you find out from him if he replaced them with brand new one's ?

I thought i had the same problem. Then i replaced my plug whire and bingo, not a problem since, the whires inside broke apart and would touch and come apart at times so spark then nothing, then spark. Check it out if you have another whire arround
