Who has ever owned or had a friend that owned a REAL R/C car, truck, boat, airplane, or helicopter. I'm talking about $300+ R/C. Not your local Radio Shack. Currently I have a kyosho gas powered truck. I've owned it for about 2 years. I need to take it all apart and clean it and make it look nice again. But, man, that thing was a blast! 35+mph, the smell of nitro, and tuning it. Its just like owning a 2 stroke. I'm considering buying a airplane next. Either gas or electric. But, if you guys want to get into the hobby, definately buy from here.

These people are great. Pretty affordable and have everything you could ever think of. Enjoy :p

Yeah I have a nice gas powered truck(cost over 350$ or so). I had tons of electric stuff but got rid of most of it. Now I just have old school 3 wheelers and thats my extent of electric.

I knew it was a blackfoot. I remember the sledgehammer. That was a cool looking truck. Kinda like the Blackfoot but it was blue. Cool looking units.

My friend has one. Its a 4x4 that he has all these modifications and upgrades on it that I don't understand. From the sounds of it, its really cool. But I've never been around one.
I do have a $200 R/C electric plane though. I love it. It just sucks really bad when you mess up because then you wreck, which means you need to buy new wings and such. Or mend them, but that looks like crap.

They have these electric planes from towerhobbies made from a balsa wood foam contruction. They are sopposivly undestructable. They cost around $250.00 for everything. I'm really considering one. The only thing that can really break on a crash is the prop. It will save a lot of $$ in the long run, and there electric which will be easier for me because I'm a newbie.

I don't have any but for at least 8-10 years my boss has been flying helicopters. That's all he does for about 4-5 hours evey possible day he can.

He has a 55 gallon drum of fuel in shed and it's like 10 bucks a gallon  I think he said. Does that sound right?

We complain about 3 wheeler parts being so high sometimes but when you compare them to these hobbies they are dirt cheap.

So would it be fair to say Helicopters take the longest time to get used to referring to the controls?

I have a few different ones, I have a HPI savage, had two but sold one. Duratrax Maximum St, RC10GT, and another touring car made by HPI but name escapes me right now(does about 70MPH) tons of upgrade. I also have a old CLODBUSTER electric.

Savage .21 4x4 about 35-40MPH
Maximum St .15 4x2 about 55MPH
RC10GT 4x2 about 55MPH
Touring very low and fast 70MPH
ClodBuster 4 wheel drive and 4 Wheel Steer :)
I also had and Rs4 Touring that was clocked at 91MPH but sold that. Super fast.

Next I want a Helicopter or plane, unless a good deal comes along for something else.

But 1 gallon of nitro fuel will last a long time... Do you know you can get a "rock zilla" kit for your clod buster. I think it comes with nicer suspension and big rock tires. Probably a roll bar and someother stuff.... Helicopters are extremely hard to fly I've heard. For $1000+ for a good one, I would NOT want to crash it.

Yes I have seen that kit, and thought about getting it, last I looked it was around $250, I actually have a video of one with that kit that drives over a tree on its side, when it pulls up to it though the tree is as tall as the truck. Pretty badass.

Here is two awesome vids that show the articulation that can be done with these. And the fun too be had.

I am an x-racer...lol I had an rc10 T-3, B-3(buggy), and a rc10gt. It was fun at the time to do it but you can wrap up a lot of money into racing them just to stay competitive. I ran tekin speed controls, futaba radios and servos, and the 3000 mamp batteries. After I got out of that I got into R/C airplanes....lol that is way more expensive than the cars, especially when I was teaching myself how to fly..I did learn though, but haven't flown in over 2 yrs now....Chris

I've had a few electric and nitro vehicles. the only exception is a good helicopter, just because I never wanted to bite the bullet and spend the cash on the one I wanted.

Some I can remember is the savage, mt2, super nitro rs4, associated ntc3+, tmaxx, regular nitro rs4, regular ntc3. Thats all i can remember for nitros. My preference is AE, and the worste in my oppinion is traxxas.

For electrics,, eh, where do I begin.. Been through too many of those to list out.

I've had two planes, one cheap-o one, and a 6 1/2' wingspan piper cub kit, that I spent a few weeks hand building and covering, and rigging.

A couple boats of course, only electric for those. Never really got into them much.

Right now pretty much everything is sold off, except for all my equipment and tools. I now repair them for people. Right now i'm restoring and hopping up a rc10 A1 for a member here on the boards. The old gold tub edition. Nothing like the classics.

Yeah I woned a 1/8 scale truck. I'll admit they are pretty sweeet when you run them....the other 80% of the time when you have to work on the damn things they suck!!!! I spent WAY more $$$ on that damn thing then I did on my 250R!!! And I restored that!!! The little tiny pieces the thing needs are so expensive! My advice is to stick with something you can ride, trike, quad, bike ect........
