See this in the local paper....thought it was halrious..but true being a farm boy..lol

WHY FARM TRUCKS
NEVER GET STOLEN
-They have a range of about 20 miles before they over-heat, break down, or run out of gas
-Only the owners know how to operate the door to get in and out
-It is difficult to get away fast with all the fence tools, grease-rags, ropes, chains, buckets, boots and loose paper in the cab
-It takes to long to start it, then when it is started the smoke coming up through the rusted floor boards clouds your vision
-They are too easy to spot the drivers door is red the passenger’s door is green…
-The large round bale in the back makes it hard to see if you are being chased, you could use the mirrors if they weren’t cracked and covered with duct tape
-Top speed is only about 45 mph

Plus, 4 bald tires, 3 broken springs, 2 burnt out taillights, 1 headlight....priceless

hahaha so true! We got a old CCKW353 2 1/2 ton from WW2 that was used in this family until probably 1988. We still got it. It runs, smokes like heck, and its huge, has no floor, doors are junk. Other than that not too much rot to speak of. It could plow 4 feet of snow I bet. This thing is a BEAST.

This just brings back a bad memorie, me and my buddie said we should head out to the woods and go shooting, all he had at the time was an old farm truck that didnt start easily. So we get there, go through a box of ammo or two and decide to head back. Were about 40 miles from our house, about 30 miles there his truck ran out of gas, so we make a 5 mile hike to the nearest station and get some gas, come back and pour it in, I took a little and put it in the carb. Now the fuel pump didnt want to comply, so I get underneath and find a unplugged wire. Plug it in, tell him to turn it on, and the ignition. So we sat there a good half hour before it started.

That my friends is a dodge power wagon. My boss has a 47 with the inline six. It goes about 50, 3 spd. un-syncronized trans, huge PTO driven winch on the front and 5.88 gears! Basically it will go anywhere but very slowly. His however is in imaculate condition.

No, actually it is not a power wagon. I know the cab looks similar, but a Power Wagon it is not. It is a duece and a half 2 1/2 ton six wheel drive standard issue military vehicle.

He's right. Its called a CCKW-353. I still got all the original tags that were inside the cab. My uncles and I put some work into it a few years ago. Needs a lot more. Maybe someday... Yeah my dog was running around and I just happened to take a picture of him in it. He's a hyper little puppy. He's a good dog.

That Duece and a half would look awesome with 6 44" TSL swamper tires and a flat green paint job.

Well hey, it would help if I looked at all of the pictures and noticed the extra axle in the rear woops. Still same concept as a power wagon. anyone seen the show "trucks" on spike TV? He is building a huge and I mean huge 41 power wagon. I have been trying to convince my boss to put some radial mud tires on the power wagon because the original tires are super stiff and that would have to improve the ride some. It would definatley look cool though.

Nope that would be a 1978 suzuki GS 750. Runs, drives, needs restoration.

My dad has a 53 Dodge Power Wagon with a 350 chevy in it and 4 speed manual. It used to rip before the tranny went out. He wants to put some big swampers on it because hes got the non directional military tires on it. Hes got true duals on it with 9 inch cherry bombs its one of the loudest trucks in town Its sweet.

If that has tires anything like the later ones, the swampers would be way too small, later ones like my freinds dad used to have had about a 60 inch tire. Not to mention that it would completely crush any tire not meant for that amount of weight. That truck was fun while he had it, its a great feeling to look down on full size pickups with huge lifts. It was alot of fun and suprisingly capable off road too.

Yeah there should be duelies on the back but we took them off when we were working on the wheel bearings and brakes. Took forever to find parts for the master cylinder. Luckily we found NOS parts to go inside of it (forgot what we needed). Took about a year to find it all. Thank god for that guy in PA. Now it just needs a front brake line and the truck will stop under its own power :w00t:

At my camp these two trucks were in my "neighbours" back part of his field. He had many more, but three or four barge loads went back to mainland of vehicles to be crushed. Sad to see them go. And I'm not talking your ordinary truck here, there was an Impala SS, a Gran Torino, a GTO, a Charger, and about 16 Bugs. Many more as well, but those were some of the ones I remember looking at, and then when I went back, they were gone.
