The rifle was used in the korean war and Vietnam before being replaced by the M16 so it has a history its pretty cool and its mint so it probly didnt see much action. the cocking mechinism is still all greased up this gun was taking car of was in my ''grandfathers" basement but he died sad to say (didnt know him to well but still sad) well any ways here are some pics what do you think ts worth now i heard the price is up there

I'm sort of into guns I shoot clay, and pistols occasionaly, I just recently figured out that I own a Liberator .45

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FP-45_Liberator

http://mrbobo.net/img/Unknown.gif

I had no clue what it was and neither did my family, I had been playing with it since I was little, we always assumed it was just a flaregun. , it's apparently a VERY rare find. :w00t:

i like the m1 carbines better than the m16 for some reason...to me they look better with the FAT mag. I have a 196? winchester .410 canada shotgun. Apparently it is supposed to be SHIET but wutever hey it looks better than my dads guns lol. Oh by the way i used to shoot the gun but not its over the mantle piece. Pics later.

Well, the firearm laws are tighter in the land of down under but i shoot air rifle and .22 magnum plus i occassionaly do big bore(including WW|| service rifles)

There is this 82 year old war veteran who i know and he now owns the same rifle
he used in WW2 and even though he is 82 he can out-shoot me or my dad any day of the week:cry:

Does your 17L have those goofy cutouts on the top of the slide? I am thinking about getting a glock since my brother has one but I like the longer slide of this one. Do you know if they make it like this?

I have many ranging from the one that fits on your buckle to a 30-06 contender and up to a 10 ga shotgun.

In my house we got about 2 .22 rugers, 2 9mm, 1 glock .45, 2 .22 berettas, 4 .22 rifles, 1 sks all done out, and a few more I can't think of them. Now my grandfather got a few m16s, ak47s, ar15, about 40 .22's and 30 shotguns, m1 carbines, and some more vintage military guns. Its insane. Nevermind all the rounds for each gun he has.. I hope his house doesnt catch on fire someday. It would be like a firework factory going off.

Yeah the G-17L has the longer barrel and most have the compensator ports in the top of the barrel and slide. BUt the problem is they have discontinued that model with the compensation on it. They stated it wasnt really needed since the muzzel jump wasnt much different with or without the compensation.

so where can you get one without that square hole on the slide? The only one I have seen at the local gunshop has the slide with the hole.

ScottZJ

The newer models out now do not have the hole in the slide. You might have to try online somewhere. If you buy it online you will just have to get it shipped to your local gun shop or FFL agent.

BIG E if that carbine is in good condition and depending on the brand it could get 1500 or more depending on the make and condition. My dad has one original millitary issue it was appraised at 900 with a shot out barrel but ive seen them go for way more than 900. He also has 2 M1 Garands and pretty much all the American guns used in world war2 except for a tompson bar and the other machine guns and some other rifles. I personally own 2 british enfields and an Indian Enfield used by the Australian Jungle fighters or something like that. Dumpster World your LIberator will aslo get i beleive 1500 up for a good condition one.

I have my Tuarus Titanium .41MAG on consignment at a gun shop so I can get a Model 27 Glock.I also have a M1 that my grandfather gave me,an old .22 pistol I found burned up in the hills,a 1911 .22 winchester long rifle pump action, and a 4 barrel deringer look a like that I can't identify. It looks like something a pirate would have packed.
I need to put pics on here, becuase I have been told my old rifle is an M1 but I don't know for sure.It has the adjustable elevation sites, and the ammo is the same as a 30-06.Cool old military rifle. We have the largest firearms museum in North America in a town 20 miles from here.Cody,Wy. The home of Lt.Buffalo Bill Cody.I have taken family there and you literally cannot see all of the guns in one day of walking.

Guns are great!!! I have a few myself

1 .25-06 browning a-bolt (really nice gun)
1 cooey .410 single barrel shotgun
1 BSA .270
1 ruger 10-22
1 Globe firearms bolt action .22
1 Lyman (Italian) .50 calibre muzzleloader (plains rifle)

A whole bunch more too I can't think of a the moment, one thing for sure, you can never have to many guns. We have a crisis in Canada though our government views our country as a place that shall eventually become a "gun free" place. We have to fight for our rights and our heritage boys, for ourselves and for our kids and grandkids.

Guns have 2 enemies, rust and politicians. We need to keep the both of them away from our prized possesions.

Yeah i got a couple

Hornady .17 HMR
Remington .22 lever action
Model 16 pump .22 (my grandfather had it when he was a kid an he is dead now so its old)
Remington .243
Mossberg Camo 835 Pump 12 Gauge Turkey Gun
Charles Daley semi-auto 12 gauge
And today i picked up a 1946 Russian M44.

I love really old military guns because you can imagine just how many people they killed. Here are pics of the M44.

 my grandma is 70 and she has a couple of guns.
3 30-30s, a 32 special from when she was a kid
today she got a soviet revolver of some kind
a 22 hornet which she killed her first deer with way back when
and she also has a .243 and she hunts with them ALL!
Also she has a 20 gauge side by side (super old)
and a .410

Guys maybe you could help me figure out what machine gun my dad owns. Its got a wooden stock, wooden grip over the barrel, a AK style mag and grip, and a handle that folds down on the side of the gun from the top. Anyone know?
