Been working on my little Yami as of late. Its a real project in every sense of the word. Doing a little restomod work on it trying to make it a better ditch banger. Since its been mine I've replaced the slide rail suspension with new pieces, bought a couple new heavy duty skis, rebuilt the top end (found a melted piston), put on a new track and replaced the bars with the BMX bars from my Dirt King.

Last winter

Right now the sled is torn down to the bare body so I can straighten and pound out every dent and curve, pop rivet/weld the sheetmetal back together with thicker/longer rivets and brace the body where needed.

Cut open the stock exhaust and opened up the passageways with the drill as well. When I had the head off I cleaned up all the ports so everything flows smoothly. Need to check what bottom sprocket I have as there are several options for more top speed or grunt, want more grunt.

I mean there must be room for improvement?

Should note that I have a stock exhaust as well just to compare what works better. Stock pilot is a 78 and the stock mix ratio is about 20:1 so with the exhaust opened and the mix at 30:1, I think I'll notice a gain. Also hoping to get a better sound.

Also removed like 5 pounds of worthless crap like the oil mixing system, odd brackets, windsheild, rear rack, etc... Fun little project, made a headlight cover from a crazy carpet yesterday and have some number backgrounds to put on as well. This is just a simple project, just for fun, no big money spent and don't plan to spend much more. Looking for bar hooks and handguards as well.

Riding pics from last winter. My buddy stopped for a tree when I was trying to power over some deep snow, small trees.

How do you figure 30:1 will gain you anything? How much experience do you have with 2 strokes?

Enlighten me Rusty, I think I know where I went wrong here. 30:1 is a richer mixture? So really 20:1 is leaner?

30:1 is a leaner mix. That's 30 parts fuel to 1 part oil.

Actually depends on what your talking about. Yes 30:1 is leaner on oil but richer on fuel. The 20:1 can also be leaner if your talking about the amount of fuel.

I think it's pretty safe when talking about mixing oil in to gas that richer or leaner can be reserved for the oil content.

Yes so wouldn't 30:1 give a better burn then 20:1 Osin86?

You will probably Notice a bit of increase in Throttle response, Less fouled plugs and cleaner running, i would just go 32:1 and call it good.

Wow, those Bravo's are pretty small, eh? Looks like a nice berm-basher machine though, probably bad for your back (looks like no rear suspension)... One of my friends has one, I should see how much he wants for it. :)

I would just stay with the 20:1 mixture, unless you want to rejet for a different mixture, It will run slightly richer with a 32:1 mixture.

I had a 1983 bravo up untill this past winter, the thing never let me down. My dad bought it for me and my older brother when i was about 9 and my brother never had any interest in it so i was always riding it and working on it. Before last winter my dad left our familly and the ownership was givin to my brother for some reason because he is older them me. What does he do... he sells it and dosnt give me a damn penny. That'd when I went out and bought myself a 88 enticer which is also a hell of a machine.

Your not missing much, just a few pics of the expansion chamber and not much else.

Picked up my used body last week. Been welding up the seams where its riveted together to make it super strong. The gas/mig works great on the thin stuff. Ran out of wire so I'm SOL until I get more.

Gonna go back into my motor as well, take the porting up a notch.
