Well, I got my December gas bill in the mail yesterday. Much to my surprise it is shown that my new balance for the month is $279.74. Keep in mind, this is a brand new furnace in a mobile home with the thermostat set at 68 when I am at home and 55 when I am at work. I knew it would be expensive, but dag gone!!! I need to look at alternitive heating options.

Most of the people I work with were saying theirs was around and alittle over $400 for the month of December. I am not on any of the major gas companies. Mine is a goofy one out of Zanesville, OH. And I haven't recieved my December bill yet. Novembers bill was $66.00.

I've heard it was going up like 70 some percent but I just got my December electric/gas bill. It's the same company and comes on one bill. Any way I paid $186 for gas and electric for the month of December, I paid more than that last December.

Here in N.W. Indiana my gas bill went from $260.00 to $505.00....!!!!!!!!!!! :( and that is our "BUDGET" plan......otherwise it would have been $668.98 Thinking about using the fireplace and candles.....NIPSCO combines our electric and gas........

I have been burning wood in my house for 3 winters now. I LOVE wood heat, it's a deep warm heat, dry but warm. It's sure alot of work, but man It makes it possible to buy alot more 3 wheeler parts.:w00t:

If you would like to know how to convert your natural gas bill into what you would have paid using propane ,,, here it is.
Your CCF used x 100 X.632 divided by 36.38 = gallons of propane you would have used.
Find out what your friends are paying to see how much it would have cost you to burn propane ( much much more ! ).
Even at a locked in rate that is very good for around my area (1.469 per gallon till next spring it would have nearly doubled my natural gas bill.
The nat gas company ,,, at this time has not jacked up delivery fees but I have heard on the news about Nibsco ,,, wayyyyy out of line with the rest of nat gas fee's

My bill was estimated at 195.00, the month before that it was an actual reading and the bill was 53 bux, I sent the mutts a check for 70 bux when I get the next bill that is a actual reading then I will pay what ever the balance is, them mutts are not getting a no interest loan from me!

Electric company did this years ago and over charged me like 400 bux in two months then paid me back the over charge by taking 20 bux a month off future bills, they got millions of dollars in a no intrest loan...
