I have the same truck but an 02 with the 360 and love it. Tell the guys asking "Where's the Dubs" that they look cool until you have to put tires on them. Tires for the 20s are over $300 a piece.

thats right todd, all the other three four doors had 20's , i thought of the tire prices as soon as i saw them, they had hemi's too, those two options were like $3000 extra, this has a 235 horse 4.7l v-8, same engine as in the grand cherokee's, i miss my 360, but the extra comfort in this cab makes up for it. my old 98 had 3.50 gears, this has 3.90's, the in dash computer says 15-17 mph on the highway, and 14-15 in town

No, Thats the opposite of the problem and the reason for him purchasing the truck, its not a Chevy, he didn't want it to break down while he was driving it,lol

LOL I saw that on Ebay too. Still desn't look like enough lift to really clear the tires. Mines staying stock but I do have a 88 Wrangler and a 86 F350 4X4 Dually with a 460 that I will be doing up. Come springtime Mike and I will have to head out your way for a weekend and tear up those hills.

Damn you must be puffin something, the HEMI is most definetly a great motor, and I am unsure where you guys heard of it being bad and having problems but I know that mine will smoke any other stocker truck out there even my buddies avalanche with the 8.1L, I have roasted chevys, fords, hondas, with a freakin car on the back of my truck with plenty of witness's. And ya know nothing Rots like a chebby,
Chevys rust and Fords break down and DODGE is there to pull them around.

Shee thats a nice ram and a good choice, I had to have the Hemi though, the reason you stated is also the reason I decided against the 20s too, that and they dont appeal to me that much. Besides mine will get some new 35's on my 17's soon. For a great site check out Dodgetalk.com, it has tons of information and is a great site. Also not sure if you are into big tires but most dont realise that 35's will fit stock on your truck. Have fun and enjoy.

haha The Hemis arnt the same any more, just Mopar Label on an engine now..Back in the day ill Give it credit the Hemi was a mean motor.. but Dodge just killed it, i just bought a dodge Shadow and DUDE! its got a hemi in it! 3.4L! Mopar can rot lol, Chevy all the way!! i got some buddies with 360's and one with had one with a Cummins Straight 6 best dodge ever, tons of power nice sound but still tons of problems bought it, and in the first month had to put like 800 into the front end.

Hi, I dont know where you guys are buying tires at but, if your paying almost a grand for 4-Goodyear 275/60/20 Wrangler Hp Tires I would find another tire shop. if you go to www.quandtsonline.com and click on products, and then scroll down and click on tires theye sell new take off 275/60/20 Goodyear Wrangler HP's for $150.00 each, and 275/55/20 Goodyear Eagle GTII's for $150.00 each. I have dealt with them and they are pretty cool. They are located In Salem,IL. My Brother and I have a Small tire and wheel shop we run on the side and I know wholesale on the Goodyears are around $117.00 Each. That is about what any tire store pays for them. I also wanted to post a pic of my Dodge Ram it is a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 SLT 5.9 Liter, with the Factory 20's and I have put 33x13.50x20 Super Swamper Irok Radials on it. as far as gas mileage, I did'nt buy the truck for gas mileage, I bought it because Dodges Are built very Heavy-duty. my truck weighs about 5,500 pounds, I have a friend who runs a large automotive salvage yard and he always says that a 1/2 ton Dodge Pickup is Equivalent to a 3/4 ton pickup form Ford or Chevy. I'm not knocking Ford or Chevy I also own trucks from those manufacturers, see for youself, look at the frame and axles of a Dodge Compared to The other Brands of Trucks. As far as the Transmission problems go I have owned 5-different new Dodges over the last 7 or 8 years and i have never had any kind of problem. I also currently have a 1994 Dodge 3/4 ton 2500 series that I use to pull some of my Asphalt Equipment with(my real job) and it has over 184,xxx miles and runs like a champ! still on the original engine and transmission!

The dodge is definetly setup more like a work truck. When I was shopping for mine I drove a Ford and it was smooth as glass riding, would have probably sagged 2ft if you put a bag of feed in the bed  I could grab the corner of the bed and shake the whole truck around. I tried doing that to the dodge and even with me throwing all my weight into it, it didn't move hardly at all. And then when I drove it, I knew that it was made for work and haulin stuff.

That why GM(chevy) is almost bankrupt and fords sales are down by like 12% and dodge is the highest selling truck right now:lol:
