Hey.

Matt200s, (and someone correct me if I am wrong here) the Ramchargers never came with hemis. As far as I know they came out in the later 70's, in which the hemi was already out of production. They stopped making the ramcharger in about '93 or whatever year they went to the new bodystyle rams.

As for engines that could have been obtained in the stock ramchargers, the venerable slant 6 (i think) could be had, the 318 and 360 v8's, and I think maybe a deisel though i have never seen one so cannot confirm (im not a big mopar guy and never have really worked on them other then some of the newer cars, sorry). There was the automatic 727 (I think thats it?), and also i beleive a 3speed and 4 speed in them. Transfer cases available I believe were the fulltime np203 which was a chain driven full time unit that was behind automatics for the most part. There was also the np205, which is one of the best cases around. It is a part time case. There is also the 208, which is basically an aluminum 205. It isnt as strong but is lighter and provides better mileage. On some of the newer then 87 or so models, the np241 may have been available, which is in between the 205 and the 208. A pretty decent all around case.
As for axles, More then likely dana 44's. These arent too bad. For 800 bucks this is probably a good deal. For offroading this type of vehicle (along with broncos and blazers) is one of the best. It will not cost an arm and leg to setup for moderate offroading either.

Are you talking about the Dodge Warlock with the 440? It was black, looked like the Little Red Truck, my cousin has a Little Red Truck with a 360.

My bad my bro told me the earliest ones had a hemi in them and were a rare find might of just been some other larger engine like you say.

I know the trucks could be ordered with a 440, but I didn't know you could get a 440 in the ramcharger. The Hemi stopped production in 1971, and started in 1964 (the popular 426 anyway). There were some trucks that came from the factory with a Hemi in them between '64 and '71 I'm sure, like the Hemi Dart's and so fourth. Finding a truck with an ORIGINAL Hemi in it would be worth it's weight in gold.

Now that I remember, there is a 70 something Plymouth TrailDuster online for $800.00 wit ha 360. That is a rare truck, anyone in NY should check it out. Go to ebaymotors.com and go under classic cars and dodge trucks, it'll be there. Well worth your time to look.

Hemi, Thanks for the tip. I am looking for a cheap Dodge to put a plow on and I live about 5 min. away from the truck.

I wouldn't recommend using that as a plow truck, that'd be a shame. Those trucks are really rare.

I am goint to fix it up, not trash it. I have a complete drivetrain from a w250 to go under it. As for the plowing it is only about 12 driveways and we hardly get any snow.
