i cant get my 400 started it hasnt been satarted in 2 days...gas is on...tried choking numerous times...had it started for about a minute then it died then enver started...i have full tank of gas...


I NEED HELP QUICK!

Check your spark plug, might be fouled. If you pull it out and it is all black blow it off with air and take a wire brush to it.

thats another problem i cant find it...does it have a yellow thing on top of it?

ok i found it but it wont come out i have the tool that came with the bike and it wont come out....and im pretty sure i just stripped it...should i bring it to my honda dealer and let them fix it...whats an estimate on the price for that?

yeah it runs like it did before...it came with a extra plug..and if it fouls out again i have 2 more in the canaister thing on the back and 2 in my house

kool, if it is fouling plugs you may need to adjust your jetting.

Yeah something needs adjusting. I would go out and buy a manual. That will save you a lot of money in the long run.

I dont know how long youve had it, but Id caution against running out and changing jetting just because you fouled your first plug. Especially considering it doesnt sound like your an experienced tuner. Two stokes occasionally foul plugs. It doesnt mean there is something worng with it. You should always keep a spare in your bike's tool kit. Long periods of idling, cold weather, inadequate warmup time, or ridng at low rpm for extended periods of time can all make a perfect running machine foul plugs.

He has a 400EX. Thats a 4 stroke. 4 strokes rarely foul plugs unless there is some adjusting to do to the carb.... Well, atleast I think he has a 400EX..

yeah i do i went and rode today but after i went to the carwash my bike wouldnt start again

my 110 does that... its because water gets in teh spark plug wire cap

yeah thats probably what happened....water is getting in it i guess...but im goin change my plug right now and im gonna bring it to my frin to fix my jetting

i changed my plug and my bike still wont start. when i took my plug off i had SAND and other crap all over it...any ideas on what to do?

clean out your spark plug boot, sounds like it is way too dirty

i mean the part that goes in the cylinder

ok here what im gonna do, first im gonna tear down my bike check and clean my cylinders and pistons, put it all back together, change my oil, order my k&n filter before i go ride again.
