What type of caliper or micrometer do I need to measure the inside of the cylinder? I know I need some thing to reach into the middle, but I'm not sure what. I went and looked around today & could not find anything.

Yep you sure can it isn't going to matter if the measurment is in metric or standard cause you can always convert it to one or the other
