I was wondering how any of you peeps who have one like it, Im planning on getting the 06 450R or the 06 YFZ 450 (whoever cuts me the best deal) in April, I figure Ill get the HRC kit and full LRD exhaust 6+ horsepower gain across the entire rpm's and a 9 horsepower peak gain.

I got one, and if I knew how to post pics you could see it. What a great quad,I LOVE IT, of course I am a Honda fan. A friend of mine has the 06 YFZ and it is a nice machine as well. You wont be disappointed in either one. Mine is basically bone stock except for the nerfs ,pegs and handguards. GPR steering dampener and IMS ROLL DESIGN stem are on order.GREG

Don't know what the price difference is, but the new suzuki quadracer R450 supposedly spanks the trx and yfz pretty bad. Don't get me wrong, I am not a huge suzuki fan, but that sucker is NASTY. :naughty:

Went to our local snowmobile club this weekend and was talkin to someone about the suz 450 and they said its not as great as everyone made it out to be. sure they make it sound great in the magz but they only test it for like a day. I would say stick with the honda or yamaha. Both great bikes.

Planet sand dynoed the new suzukie 450 and it made 41 hp to the wheels not 51, even if 51 was a crank number sure seemed to be a substantial loss from the crank to the tires. Plus, Im nto a big fan of buying a brand new quad that has yet to be tested, it may be great but I dotn want to start taking it back to get recalls fixed if they do happen. I sat on the 450R yesterday and it sure seems comfy.

yeah but compare the lt's 41 to the trx's 35, 6 horse difference to the wheels is a pretty big deal if you ask me

Yeah, the YFZ is more to my liking than the TRX, but the Suzuki, that thing is WICKED! for a wicked price also - nodz - ( I have ridden all 3 )

Yeah but that price for a race ready quad is nothing compared to the 15-20 grand suz had in their z400 just to make it respectable (if possible)

You have a valid point there, Ill probably stop by my suzuki dealer to sit and BS see how I like it. But then agian, with my HRC kit If I get the trx450R and pipe ill be puttin more to the ground. Honestly im nto worried about being the fastest out there, I dont have the money to be replacing high performance parts constantly, I just want a nice dune bike that I can count on starting up each time I feel like going out.

if you want a good quad get a trx 250r/ yzf426 conversion off ebay. they will beat hands down a trx or yfz with the factory hop up kits. the quad motors are tuned down bigtime compared to the dirt bike motors. the suspension will be better most people get the long travel front ends and the cr500 rear suspension.

my one buddy has one with a bone stock yzf 426 and he beats the yfz's every time in the hole shot at the local mx races. they all have the yamaha hop up kit.

my one other buddy has a trx conversion also thats built up and puts out 60+ horsepower. it runs on pump gas.

go with the honda can't beat it.most reliable out there, trust me you won't be dissapointed.i rode the yfz i didn't like the way it was geared from the factory.1rst. gear felt like my 400ex in 2nd gear taking off,but didn't really seem really torquey.when i jumped it it landed hard. the trx is very nice,go with that.
