Ok does anyone out there have or know anyone who has a shifter kart? Reason I am asking is because I am in need of some help on where to get parts for them and how the rear brakes are set up. I have a custom application and I think that I am going to mod it for disk breaks and I think my best bet would be to use stuff from a shifter kart. Reason is because I think that it would be compact enough and parts should be available no problem So if anyone has any input on this or where to find parts help me out. Thanks

Comet Kart Sales (http://www.cometkartsales.com/store/chassis/crg/crgkarts.htm)

Kart Connection Plus (http://www.kcplus.com/catalog.asp)

Shockwave Racing (http://www.shockwavekarting.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=SFNT&Store_Code=SK)

That's just a few I can find right now. I used to race shifters back in the day, and all I can say about them is :w00t:

I wish I knew more about them. I have wanted to get one to play with. I did some research too and never really found much on the parts side. I don't know if I wasn't looking in the right places or if what.

cool, I am trying to find a caliper that is cable actuated and so far I am not really having any luck doing so. I guess I may just have to stick with the ol' drum on the death machine.

90nut, I have a cable actuated caliper that came with some stuff I got for my barstool racer. I don't think you want to use it because it doesn't have much stopping power, you would be better off with a hydraulic caliper. All modern racing karts use hydraulic brakes, much more effective.

Its a 100cc engine, runs in its own class called TKM, pretty popular over here. They rip too...... not really fast enough for me now tho.
