Someone is seriously confused. I'm no expert but I do know 85 and 86 are the only years they were produced.

It looks to me like an '85. I think '86's were almost all white..

(Quote)1983! We believe the year on this bike to be the !st original production year. The year on this bike is very rare! This one will bring you back to OLD SCHOOL. I collect Honda bikes, my other one is a 1983 185s.(quote)

If he collected them you think he would know.

I received a reply to my question.

(quote)Thank you for your message regarding the 1983 Honda 350X ATC.

The title indicates the bike is a 1983 Honda AT. The VIN etched on the steering collar matches the VIN on the title. The engine # on the title matches the engine# on the bike which is stamped on the engine. The engine also is stamped 350CM3. Although there are questions pertaining to the year on this bike we are listing according to the VIN and title match to the bike itself.

We purchased this bike based on the title, VIN and Engine matching the stamp numbers on the bike as a 1983 Honda.

The Auto check Guide and Consumer Guide indicate this VINN as a 1983 Honda.

Should you wish to research further the ViN number and engine numbers are as follows:

Vin #: JH3TB0521DC299278
Engine#: TE08E5013147

The title is clear. The new registration is good through 6/06 and the bike is stickered with the new date.

We are describing the bike exactly to the etched numbers and title and to the best of our knowledge. Our feedback rating is very good.

We will post additional photos on the auction pertaining to the year. Should you have additional questions feel free to contact us.

Thanks again for your interest. (quote)

Can someone verify this?

I also told him he had an 85. In his auction, he states the engine stamp 350cm3 is some sort of proof that it's an 83. ha ha ha. If he's a collector he should know this only means 350 cc's.

Weird.... the "D" in the vin would make it a 1983. 85 is FM, 86 is GM. Now the front of the VIN might not be 350X. 250R frame? 200X? Got me....

Maybe he read the VIN wrong. Maybe it was stolen and the VIN tampered with. lol who knows with ebay.

I thought the 85's had 250cc's?

And why would you keep a 185 and sell a 350x if you are a collector?
