One of my good friends sent me some pics of a crashed sled in the middle of Cranberry Lake in NY. They saw it on saturday. The sledder was supposedly about 50 and was dooing about 100mph when he hit the small island on the way to cranberry lake lodge. His sled blew apart, Parts were scattered in a 200 ft radius. Look at the pictures... its unbelievable. a couple of the pics are before the parts were piled up, some are from after. I still cant get over how the sled just blew apart. Sadly the crash was fatal. Its a reminder to us all that we are human na NOT TO DRINK AND DRIVE!

That is a sad deal. I can't believe that sled disinigrated like that. I hit a big Ice chunk one time that some dumb ass ice fisherman plopped out along side of the drag strip at our local Ice drags. Seeing that destruction makes me cringe just thinking about what that poor guy went through.

No mater what you ride you should't get smashed and ride. You want to drink and get smashed Stay off any machine.

it hapened on friday night, and the trail goes right along through the islands. they drain the lake in the fall so the rocks stick out. very true about knowing your terrain. i dont know if any of you have been to cranberry lake in NY, it happend in between the pinecone and cranberry lake lodge( two bars). Definately a horrible situation. this is where it happened

i saw a thing on a sled forum. from what i understand the guy died. they said he was about 100 yards or so from the "sled". it happend last season. i see recks like that alot out here. ive seen a sled cut in half because someone thought it would be kool to put a steel pole in the middle of a woods trail. the guy saw it and baild. but the sled wasnt as lucky.

as said dont drink and ride. it ruins it for everyone else. drinking and riding has alot to do with why registration and insurance for sleds are threw the roof.
