Yeah I noticed bike going for some serious change on ebay for a while, I picked one up at a garage sale for $20 took it home and listed it on ebay and a week later I got $175 for it. Over 2 grand for a bike is crazy, that thing better be made of Gold.

well i think a big part of it is all the goodies he has on it. like the crank, hubs, and rims. If I remember correctly the quadangle was like the lamborgini of old school race bikes back in the day.

There was an all pink hutch trickstar that sold for $1700 the other week as well.

I'm currently redoing a mongoose decade that I got for nothing I wonder if I should ebay it? :naughty:

As a previous E-bay'er pointed out...and I can verify this as I once owned a Quad Angle back in the day...that ain't no Quad Angle.

wierd my local bike shop had one a couple years ago and my friend still has one, he has a bunch of torkers and se's and gt's from backin the day, some are pretty whooped, but most are decent....the one he has that is like that is pc'd light blue i think, but most of the stockers are gone...i dont think its been ridden in at least 10 years or so, the tires are rotten and stuff....maybe i should tell him how much its worth....lol...or not.

well I found out over on vintagebmx.com it's the aerospeed crank everyone is after.

I don't care who you are... paying that much for a crank you must be on crank. :wondering

its because of the cranks and and z rims on top of it being a rare bike. Some people collect them like me.But I still would not pay that much maybe for a pink hutch trickstar that was in prestine condition for around 1200

Old school BMX parts bring good money. I built a 1st yr Schwinn Sting a few years ago out of all NOS racing parts, I made it an old school racer with a Cook Bros Slant Stem. Redline ProLine bars and even found a set of 1st yr RedLine Flight Cranks with no pinchbolt. I had $1500 into it and it sat in my den for a yr then I put it on eBay and it only brought $550 so I parted it and got a total of $1600. Now my El Burro Sand -N- Sno bike sits where the Stng was.

I still have my Kuwahara Bravo KT freestyle bike from back in the day. I saw one of them go for $600 a couple months back. I thought that was a lot.

yea, tell me about it. If I only knew then what i know now.

Thats actually a good deal on those air caps. The ones that sold big last week were red and white.

I just spent a small fortune on some old school lime green brake levers. must admit though it sure is alot of fun working/restoring these old bikes. I guess I'm trying to relive my younger years.. :)

Edit:
OH MY..

You dudes are right, the reason that bike brought the cash was because it had the aero speeds, the hutch prices have gone nutty here lately, on everything from pedals to the valve caps etc. I have seen the aerospeeds bring 2k just by themselves, I have a few bmx bikes myself, anything from the 80's anymore is commanding big bucks, such as skateboard decks, bmx bikes etc. If you have noticed they decorate the TGI friday's restaurants with bikes and such memorbilia from the 80's, so there is a guy that buys just for them on ebay and spends ridiculous amounts on things just to bolt it to some restaurant wall. As far as the GT'S go, the pro performers and pro freestyle tours etc always bring more, especially if they have the mallet stems, and the 3 piece gt cranks. Bmx parts are the same as trikes, the higher end stuff back in the day brought more money, that meant, 3 piece cranks, full cromoly frame, usually rear .990 brake posts intead of side pull calipers, etc. I have a chrome 89 pro freestyle tour frame I am trying to build up now, slowly assembling the parts, about all I have left that I really need is 48 spoke wheels.
