Well not the nut itself but the threaded part thats mounted to the brake drum? I cannot think of the name of it at this point cause I'm pissed. I got 3 lugnuts off but the last one.. the whole thing is spinning.

Hmmm, grinder or hot wrench. After that, the offending piece can be got at once the drum is removed.

there is an actual tool they make for this kind of situation. as you screw one end of the tool the other end drives itself into the problem nut and separates it in two. But I cant think of the name :D. How about nut buster

I would take a chisel, hammer, and torch and when the nut is red hot chissel the *Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited* out of the nut till it breaks.

Well, I don't have a "nut buster" nut buster... or a hot wrench for that matter.. :(

I'm thinking a better part of saturday with a dremel and alot of cut off disks.. This bites.

Before I go out there and start cutting this off... I'm wondering what would be the best way to go about doing this? Straight across the back of the nut,,flush with the rim OR cutting two horizontal cuts on two sides of the nut and taking it off in two pieces? Keeping in mind I want to do minimal damage to the rim itself. Any input at this point would be appreciated.. :wondering

Dammit!

The post is spinning?

Vise grips on the nut then go to work on the post with a drill. Odds are the bit will catch on the post and turn the nut right off but if it doesn't you can drive something into the hole to hold it in place while you remove the nut.

Just cut off the stud right behind the nut. I had to do the same thing on a friends tractor before. But there were 3 of them like yours....

Thats pretty good and you really didn't get the wheel by accident too much.

One more quick question on this subject. The axle nut? Is that a reverse thread on there or not? I can't seem to budge it.

It's a right handed nut.

Quick tip on the dremel cut off disks...

Double them up. instead of threading one disk on the shaft.. put 2, they support each other much better and don't snap as easy if you twist them in a deep groove.

impact gun would be the easiest. socket and a breaker bar work. big adjustable wrench and a hammer would to, just watch out for the remaing studs.

Speaking of studs.. Were can I get some of those? I want to stay away from oem if possible. Prices for that stuff is outrageuos. Would it be safe to ride without replacing the one I cut off?

hey thats my fault. i couldnt keep the one stud from loosing the nuts so it got a good healthy dose of loc tite green lol. if *Edited* would have hit it with a little heat it would have came apart fairly easily. lol
