I am in need of some help on my truck project. It is a 1957 chevy truck with a complete 1998 Corvette C5 complete drivetrain. And I have no idea on how to get it as low as I want it without having the torque tube in the cab and in the bed. I have already tried the lowering bolts for the corvette's And the coilover kit is 2300.00 bucks. So looking for suggestions. I would like it to sit about 6-7 inches off of the ground.

Unless you really want to alter the frame, grafting a nove or camaro subframe to the front and cutting the rear and raising the rails to lower it, about your only alternative is to cut the floor and lower the body over the frame as much as you want and then reinstalling the floor where you need to. You can do the same thing with the truck bed. I believe this is called channeling the body. Or you could even install a later model frame that would be more friendly to lowering mods with the suspension.
