So with the recent rise in gas prices (ok they are always rising but anyways) what is the price of a gallon of gas where you live? People from outside of the US please join in too! If you could also post up your location that would be a help too, as I hope to work these numbers into a speech I have to give for one of my classes.

Brookville, PA: $2.89 today, it was $2.79 yesterday and $2.51 last week, so it is probably going to go up to $2.99 by tomorrow

Dubois, PA: $2.89 and I think I actually saw a station that had it for $2.99 while I was just up there.. not sure though..

Over here in CANADA we are paying $1.10 per LITRE, and there are what?, 4.5 litres in a gallon, so i dunno what it is, but it is alot! So i guess it is 4 litres in a gallon, and 1.10 a litre 4x1.10 = $4.40 a gallon rufly, but this is in canadian money too.

Vancouver area is $1.13 litre. Roughly 4 litres to a US gallon, 4.5 to an Imperial gallon. Just across the border, in Washington state, it's $.91 a litre Canadian bucks.

it was about 2.79 here in the morning when I drove into school, but I bet its probably like 2.89 now or more. Doesnt help that my truck is an 87 Chevy K-5 blazer with a 350 and 4 wheel drive, lol. Might be time for a new truck if prices keep going up like this

Know what guys? I DONT CARE about gas prices. Between biodiesel, straight cooking oil and having my gas paid for I dont have to worry one bit. And when my car gets 33 MPG when I abuse it, I get even happier :D

Propane. Last I knew of the Canadian goverment made a long and very wise commitment to using propane as a alternative fuel source and is available in most all gas stations (correct ?).
How much is that now (lots of taxs on it too I am sure) ???

I got an email the other day suggesting to boycott the 2 big gas companies Exxon and Mobil. the theory here is that if the big companies start losing money they will be forced to cut prices and with the effects of Monopolistic Competition all other companies will follow. Since Exxon and Mobil are usually the more expensive this shouldn't be to hard. Not sure if it will work but it's worth a shot!!!

I think it was like 2.88 for 87 today, might have changed since i was there though.. boycotting sounds good, they are putting ANOTHER gas station here too, so more competition.. we have one rigt down the road, another like 2 miles down the road, and another going up right across the street from the 2 mile one.. should be fun... Maybe I should like buy gas now, bury it till it gets super sxpensive, and sell it for a litle bit less than exxon..

1.05cdn/litre here so thats well over 3.19us/gallon.

I live 25 mins from the US border, it would almost be cheaper to drive down there and fill up.

Cost of propane...$20cdn flat price for a bbq tank at the gas station, the bastards rip us off.

Were at around £0.90 a liter, thats $1.60. So about $6 US per gallon. Its been more, but thats just for gas, diesel is more.

Vancouver area. Propane is hovering around 69 Cents a litre. That's about 2.29 a US gallon, all dollar and volume conversions done. There are quite few stations around carrying auto propane, but of course it's a full service deal. Lots of pickups and heavy trucks, limos and all taxis burn it around here....

Saw something on the local news last night that prices are expected to remain around the 3 bucks a gallon mark for the entire summer and will go even higher if there's another hurricane or if we start dropping bombs in the middle east again.

Here in the UK diesel has just broke £1 a litre. Unleaded is about £0.95.

The radio and papers are starting to stir it up again about the fuel prices, these are averages. Generally in the south(London) the fuel costs more.

About 4 litres in a US gallon and $1.8 dollars in the £.
So about $7.20 for a gallon of diesel!

its taken most of the fun out of driving.

Our government is suppose to hold it at a steady 85 cents a litre, will that happen? only time will tell with a certain amount of complaining:rolleyes:

We are paying 1.03 now:crazy:

yeah, I heard that too, but right now I dont see it happening. Im not saying that it wont climb a bit higher, but this happened before too. Last time the gas went to 3.49 here and everyone said it would hit $5.00 a gallon before the winter came, and it actually ended up going down quite a bit. Im not saying Im not extremely pissed about it either, but Im hoping that maybe things might turn around. If they dont, well Ill just have to do some more exhaust and intake mods to my truck:naughty: lol, used to get 8-10, Im at 13-15 now, lets see if I can squeeze some more out of the old 350:lol:

its about 2.97 here last time i checked.. im really scared though, has any one seen the fx show about how America would be affected if prices kept rising? it was horrifying. i realize now that our daily lives are dependant on oil. someone needs to invent a widespread alternative fuel that can run on gasoline motors.

Grain alcohol would do.

Corn fields for everyone !

darrel632
04-21-2006, 11:08 AM
The major grain co. like Cargill, Conagra and a few others have started manufacturing grain alcohol as well as bio-diesel as alternatives. Multimillion dollar facilities are being built all over the country, but North Americans are going to have to learn to curb their use of energy sources, period. We really are hogs when it comes to fuel use and no amount of alternatives are going to make up for our excess'.

Well it went up to $2.99 a gallon a few days ago, and I thought it was just going to keep rising!! Well about 2 days after it rose, it went back down to $2.89. Good news.
