I'm looking at buying a radar detector soon...Looking at the Valentine 1. Does anyone have any experience with it VS the Escort Passport, or any other detectors? Worth the money?

This site should give you an idea of the features of each detector.

I had a cobra radar detector and the thing worked great. I cant remember the model number right now, but I only bought it about 6 months ago and I know its still in stores now. This one had VG2, did laser, KA, K, and X. If you end up getting a detector make sure you get one that has VG2 technology. It is kind of like a "detector detector", police use it to look for radar detectors, and if they can see yours and your in a state where they are illegal, you get pulled over. Or even if they are legal they can pull you over for probable cause of speeding just because you have the detector.

Mine (i think it was like an xrs 9300 or something) would beep to warn you of this, and it would also make you undetectable to this kind of system. I really liked my detector, there wasnt anything wrong with it, but back when gas started to go up a few months ago I realized I couldnt afford to drive a gas hungry truck like mine and speed. that 350TBI is thirsty for gas:lol: so I traded a kid for some fireworks and now I stay under the speed limit. Good luck picking a detector, and Im sorry this post ended up being so long
