Ok its that time of year again and the catipilars are in full force (I'm refering to the ones that hatch out of those white nests in trees). So far I have used motor oil, cear coat, and black spray paint. These are my results

Motor oil- Kills almost on contact (works best if most are still in the nest ;))
Clear coat- works well if used heavily and they wont go more than 6" (normal can=100 catipillars)
Black Spray Paint- When covered they wont go more than 6" before dieing.

Post any redneck ways you have of killing these (and other) insects.

The best way we have found is to use a torch and burn them all. Simply touching their nest with the torch will make it go up in flames and they die.. you can't do it in drought season, though.

Some gas and a torch should do you a ton of good in a hurry!

Napalm or agent orange will also work good on those pesky critters.

I've noticed alot of those nests around this year as well. (Gypsymoth caterpillers) I remember they spreyed for them a couple years ago and they went away for the longest time... I guess it's time to do it again..

Well I found out the oil you put in those misquito torches works pretty good. Also WD40 and a match.

I get some brake cleaner or carb cleaner whichever is cheaper and a torch. I don't want any of these things burning my fingers. You can also get a chainsaw and cut down the trees and make a bond fire. :)
