i picked this up and thought it was an old diamonback but it is not. i do think it is chrome moly because it is so light. The only markings are a "GT" and the "D" logo included in the pics. thre is also a serial number ont he bottom of the crank carrier.
what is it?
thanks

My first choice would be a Dyno. It don't really resemble a GT frame but I could be wrong. Check out this BMX forum. these guys are diehard and I'm certian one of them can help you right quick... Lots of good pics, info and people on these forums. ;)

It's been a while, but it looks to me like an early DG frame.....but with the GT stamp, it could be the series before the GT Performer's. I had one of each back in the early/mid 80's as well as a few SE's, Torkers, D'Back, Cooks Bros, Hutch.....My dad was always gettin pissed at me because I would have a few torn apart in the garage so he couldn't park in there...lol...most I had at one time was 8, that's when I was banned to the back/side yard to do any work on them!

That is a Dyno stamping on the lower part of the frame...Not sure about GT/Dyno's relationship at the time. When ScottZJ sees this I'm sure he'll have a better idea and probably give you more of a definitive answer. I think there were a couple other old school bmx'rs here too.

I was just looking at your thread on vintage bmx. Looks like you found yourelf a dyno. Not sure what those bring on ebay but some of the older freestyle frame and forks rake in big bucks. What are you going to do with it?

I found this one someone was throwing out a while back. Stripped it down and totally rebuilt it. Can't find any pics of it finished in my photobucket though. It's an old school Mongoose decade. I'll see if I can locate a finished pic of it.. I think this is it almost finished:

Yeah that looks like it could be a late 80's early 90's dyno bmx frame. The mid 80's freestyle bikes has the double row under the seat area so its not a freestyle bike. Willie has a chrome dyno too but its a freestyle.
