If trying to record a vhs tape using two vcr's and I cannot for the life of me rememebr how to do it. :wondering The one vcr is built right into the tv.

I have a three pronged wire (red white and yellow) that I think I used the last time I attemped this. But there is no red plug in the back of the vcr(or the red one isn't used)

Can someone walk me through this? :beer

The three pronged cable you have is an Audio/Video RCA cable. The yellow is for video, while the white and red are for left and right audio. You can still use this cable as long as the yellow and either the red OR white end is connected to both devices. The audio will be in mono vs. stereo in this configuration, but with todays A/V technology, it's not that big of a deal. Just connect one end of the cable to whichever device has output jacks and the other end to the inputs of the other device. Use the output device as your player and the input device as your recorder. Should work just fine.

Hope this helps...

from the back of the vcr do audio/video out ..white goes in the audio yellow hole and yellow goes in the video yellow hole and then put the audio white into the white hole on the tv and yellow into the yellow hole and you should be set.

read your pm

have the TV record onto the actual non hooked up to tv vcr and you should be all set.

put the black coax cable from the ant out to the tv's cable port. put the coax cable from the wall into the ant in on the vcr.

This thread makes me laugh.

Back during my single days in the mid 90's my roomate and I hooked up my stereo, tv, vcr and his vcr. It always worked perfect except for the 2 times we rented dumb and dumber and neither time did we get it recorded.

I know we had one heck of atime getting it all rigged up. The remote control confusion was unreal.

What DeePa said, but you don't need the coax AND the RCA's. They both do the same thing, just in different ways. One or the other is enough to get the job done.

I remember recording my dad's porn as a kid.. was easier than having to set the counter and re-wind it back to original position hehe...

If you use the TV remove and move the chanels down below chanel 2 .. it might go to " aux " as in auxiliary, so that it receives the singal from the other vcr. that or the remote should have an " Input " or other feature.

set your TV/VCR combo to one of the following (depending on options of TV or make and model)

A/V1
Line 1
Input 1

A/V2
Line 2
Input 2

Put a tape in the external VCR and push play - go through the above until you see it playing on the TV. Then you'll know it's hooked up right. Then just play the tape in the external VCR and push record on the TV/VCR - you have to be on Input (X) for this to work, not a channel. When using RCA jacks (red/white/yellow) it is not channalized like regular coax (3,4,5,6 ets)- it is a composite input signal. Questions??? Pm me.

I think someone needs a DVR...... lol

You need to hook your cable (coax) in put to the vcr first.... then hook those rca cables from the vcr out to one of the tv's inputs, then go to the corresponding auxiliary channel and you should be set.

But like I said.... get a TiVo lol
