Great deal but really anyone can de-stroke a trike to 200cc's. The Short track kit is a nice bonus.

Yes I liked the story that it was an actual trophy winner with that set up. I have a complete mint short track kit with NOS shrouds so I figure I can sell the one on the bike to help fund the project. Have big plans for that 200r!!! The 81 R is almost done.....need more to do!!!!

Its true anyone can debore a 250, but that is a honda debore crank and rod. Thats why it has the 200 seat.

You will have to give us some good quality pictures of it when you get it. He said he put the stock pipe back on it too. But that doesn't look to be the stock head pipe to me.

Yeah Willie and I were talking about them. We were thinking they are kinda like the maier low profile ones but have a bit more of a slant to them too. Hey Orange. If you venture this way to get the trike, you are welcome to stay at my place (if you come near west TN area..........peace

thats a nice bike, piece of history too. I wonder where he got the 200r seat cover, you don't see to many of them. I wonder what else is done to the bike that isn't listed, what kind of ingnition did he use on it too???? those fenders don't look like the low pro's that I have on one of my bikes. Now there is more members of this site that have ex-race bikes and rarities.

There's two real benefits to doing it. The first one is you won't crack your tailbone on it when coming off a jump with your arse hanging off the back of the seat. You'd see a lot of people put crossbar pads and electrical tape around them too. The second is that it's way easier to lift them into the truck that way.

Potential problem with doing it is they won't hold you up as well if you flip backwards so I don't recommend casual riders do that.

WOW, super nice machine with a nice story behind it. Good score, OC. I was pissed and jealous until I saw that it's going to a good home. You're going to have the most complete and desired sport trike collection of anyone on this planet I think. Glad it didn't go to some punk loser that would just beat it up in the woods. The trike got lucky, and so did you!!

OK talked to the owner. This machine has traveled the country in the racing circuit in the 80s. It has won some major races and has bumped bars with Jackie Meadows in the 200cc youth class. He lost interest in racing when he turned 16 and got a car. He is 35 now so not alot of use since. Included with this bike is a prize he won his very last race which has been bolted only briefly on the machine. It is being shipped to me and I will post it when I receive it...a white fiberglass fender made for racers by an unknown manufactuer...something I havent seen before and basically new :naughty: :w00t: He said he thinks the rears are maiers......we'll see.

The fenders could have been made by lots of different companies tons more companies made them in the 80's than did now, the old mags show lots of racing plastic available obviously maier and ufo made them, but dean sundahls company sold them for awhile, as well as other companies I would have to research again and look the names up. It's obvious they are meant to be low profile since they don't have the indention beside the seat, not sure what the purpose is of kicking them up in the back though other than looks. From talking to catfishwhisker who used to race, here on the site he said everyone nearly that raced used to flip their grab bars like that, some people probably did it just because everyone else was doing it, but it did help with safety and the majority of races the padding and electrical tape was a requirement as well. I do agree that's alot cooler bike than one you simply had destroked just because of the fact it was actually raced and has a history behind it. It may not be a factory honda racer, but probably had far more work done than just restroking. Try to find out if he knows who did the engine work to it etc and what all was done as far as porting, what exhaust it has etc. It' odd it doesn't have htraks or something on the rear maybe he already sold his race tires, surely he dind't run the stockers

What is the guys name? I want to go through my mags and see if I can find some pics or write ups. Jackie Meadows is from the midwest too and got his bikes tuned at FTZ in Cape Gireadeau, MO where I got my 250R engine rebuilt. It's cool that he's from Arkansas, midwest home boy.

Um won't it just be like a tamed down 250R??? Same engine/bike 50cc's less right???

Did honda actually sell the cylinder to turn your 250R into a 200R???

Yes I am going to tear it up !!!! . I have a good place to test it out. Motor was highly modified by cam X racing and the owner says it screams and pushes alot harder than a stock 250r. We'll see ;)
