Edit 8-16-08: I'm letting the site expire guys. I can't keep paying for it. I kept it going as long as I could. It may still work for a while but it will ask you to sign up for an account (free) and pay for the bandwidth (usually only 30-50 cents per manual). No idea when it will stop working completely.

In the meantime, a new member here (sunblock) has offered some hosting free of charge. Here's the link.

http://72.52.143.80/~trikes/

http://72.52.143.80/~trikes/Manuals/ATC%20manuals/

Not all the manuals are on there yet. Not sure when they will be. I actually only had a portion of the manuals from the other site on my hard drive so I'll have to find someone that has the rest to upload them here.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Update 8/26/06: New manuals added. 250sx (at last!) and 1985-87 250ES Big Red! Huge thanks to ATCnut for these!

--------------------------------

Ok, here's the deal. In the interest of assisting people properly maintain their trikes, I decided to get some web hosting space to store service manuals.

Here's the current list of service manuals. This does not include the other manuals in there (owners manuals, wiring diagrams, wheel size charts, etc).

I already searched for a free site. Good luck. Only way to get a truly free host is if you know someone that's running a server. I used to work for an ISP and still had server access for years after I left that job until recently.

Megaupload.com would be better, because theres no 60 minutes of waiting for your next download, and it's free, you can upload 250mb each time for free..:)

The problem with megaupload is that an idle file is deleted after 21 days.

I looked at a bunch of different options and the one I used here was the best one I could come up with. Nothing worth a **** is free. That's just life. This is a very inexpensive option and if a handful of people would pitch in it would be very easy to keep it going indefinitely. I'm also looking into a pay-per-download setup but I'm not a big fan of that idea. I might have to go that route though. We'll see if anyone steps up to help out withought being forced to.

I just upped the bandwidth plan I'm on so it should be available again now.

Notice: If you don't plan to contribute or if you cannot contribute DO NOT download anything you don't actually need. Example, if you don't own a 350x, you don't need the manual for it. I've been watching the usage and I know there's a lot of unnecassary downloading going on. Be courteous and leave that download for somebody who needs a manual for a trike they actually own. If you want to grab everything that's in there just so you can have it, I don't mind at all. Just do the right thing and help out with a couple bucks first. Thanks.

Doug...couln't you set up dyndns on an ftp server from home and port forward through your dsl/cable "router" and then change anytime your ip address changes?

I remember setting it up a while back and I could hit my PC from the "outside world" by ip address over port 8080. It's somewhat inconvenient...but it will work.

Here is an article that describes how to do what I am refering to...
http://www.lifehacker.com/software/web-publishing/how-to-assign-a-domain-name-to-your-home-web-server-124804.php

Anyone can do this. Google is a good thing...so are your eyes and brains...use them all and you'll be amazed at what you can accomplish!! :beer

Yeah but it's a pain in the ass and my internet connection has been messed up lately.

I just figured out how to make it a pay-per-download. I might just require a 50 cent payment for each download. That way it pays for itself, it's cheap as hell for anyone that needs one and it won't disappear for being idle or whatever.

If I use more bandwidth than I paid for let me know. I will pay it back. I have to admit I am one of the people taking ever thing while it is up. Plus I had some problems with my computer last night so I had to download some more than once.

Is there a way to scan a 110 manual & make it PDF. If so I have one would be happy to do it.

Howard
08-14-2006, 10:33 PM
Dammit, i down loaded the ones i needed and wanted, sent some money too. not sure how much that will cover tho. i also thin that pay per download is cool, 50 cents per manual. ha ha can't beat that with a stick.

THANKS A LOT !!
Howard

Dammit!
08-14-2006, 11:18 PM
You guys paid more than enough. Thanks. Download whatever you want. Let me know when you're done though because I might turn on the pay-per-download option. I think how that works is that any payment goes into my account balance which basically would just buy more bandwidth. That would be perfect. I think at 50 or 75 cents per it would sustain itself but I need to do a little math to make sure I don't set it too high or too low. I need to try it out and see how user friendly it is as well. If it's a complete pain in the arse to make a payment I'm not going to mess with it.

This is already the biggest collection of trike manuals on the net and it's only been up two days. :w00t:

Howard
08-14-2006, 11:24 PM
shoot im done. im always getting different trikes so i wanted many of those manuals. great deal ya got there. Maybe if you keep getting more than you need money wise buy a PDF CD from ebay for manuals you don't already have then add them to the list? i'd donate more for that too.
need 250sx, some Kawasaki manuals and maybe some yamaha too. surely someone has some tri z pdf files they have bought from ebay or something to donate? just make a copy and send to Dammit to host.

Well worth it.
Thanks

Dammit!
08-14-2006, 11:32 PM
A Tri-Z manual is in the process of being uploaded right now.

This should work out really well. It's easy to share access so people can upload what they have, the servers are fast and the download prices will be super cheap. I might move some of the smaller files into a different directory and keep those 100% free and only charge a download fee for the full service manuals (they're typically 70 MB's each). A lot of this stuff is fairly small and won't have much effect on overall bandwidth usage so no reason to charge anything for those. I don't know. I'll figure something out that will benefit everybody.

I will finish up tomorrow.

Just to let you know when you had it on the $.5 per manual the least you can send is $1 but I think you pay for 2 downloads at once.

Bandwidth is used up by about half right now. I don't think I'll be upgrading to the next tier though. 24gigs per month should be plenty. The initial rush of everybody grabbing them like looters after a riot is what used most of it.

As long as people continue to do help out as they need something it should be fine. A big thanks to everyone that has helped out by the way. :beer

Effective today, there will be a $1 per download bandwidth charge for any of the large files once my bandwidth limit is hit every month (basically anything in the Honda, Yamaha or Honda service manual folders). This is only to cover the increasing cost of keeping the archive available. It appears that it has been linked on numerous pages on the internet. Most of which do not link to this page with the donation info but straight to the files themselves. Because of this, my bandwidth got maxed out in a matter of two days this month. This will also cut down on people wasting bandwidth by downloading every manual in there even if they don't own the machine it's for.

FYI, I don't get a dime of it and I still have to pay a small montly fee but this should keep it going indefinitely. The smaller files like wiring diagrams, jetting charts etc will still be free to download.

got bored with the blue color of the 84 - 86 honda so I photoshoped a colored 200s in place of the blue one. I also replaced the cover in the pdf with mine. anyway here is the pic.. To replace in your pdf unencrypt the pdf and replace page 1 or copy and paste it over the top of current page 1. It is a rough photoshop. But the more manuals I need the more I will get a good pic on.. anyway..

Update. I created a cover for the Honda ATC 70-125 in PDF or Jpg. I also have it in Word Doc format if needed. PM for it as I cannot upload it.

Does anyone have the factory service manual for an 83 honda atc 110? The one in the manual section only covers up to 1981. I will pay for a pdf copy of it... anyone???

You need the 90-125 manual for 85 and earlier models. It covers the 83 110.

The new link needs the 86-87 200x.

I went to the original site and tried to download, and got:

"The file owner's account has reached maximum download bytes.
Please contact the user who shared the file to you and ask him to upgrade; If he is a DriveHQ group member user, he can contact the group admin"

I need an '84 200M and '82 200S manual - is it possible to get those?
I'd be happy to send the cash to do so.
Thanks,
Ron

Just wait until the begining of next month when the bandload counter resets and you should be good to go.

CaptainRon
08-11-2008, 10:25 AM
Sounds good Taiser, I'll wait and do that.

If I'm able to download - where do I send the cash?

Is it still 50 cents for each download? (bargain)

Dammit!
08-11-2008, 11:04 AM
I'm letting the original archive expire so you'll have to use this link.

http://72.52.143.80/~trikes/

Not everything is in there yet though.

CaptainRon
08-11-2008, 02:11 PM
So...should I wait until the 200M and 200S manuals are on the new site?

Or do I wait until the bandwidth is reset at the old site?

Not really an emergency either way......

Dammit!
08-11-2008, 02:31 PM
If the old site is still working you should have an option of signing up for a drivehq account and it will let you download the file if you just pay for the bandwidth (like 30 cents).

I'm letting the site expire guys.

Not all the manuals are on there yet. Not sure when they will be. I actually only had a portion of the manuals from the other site on my hard drive so I'll have to find someone that has the rest to upload them here.

Are u out to earn some money? Seems it costs to download, was able to get a Tecate manual a while ago and that didn't cost anything but now i need a manual for a Honda 200ES and gets stopped.

If its no money interest is it OK if i help out with sharing manuals i download even if it will cost me some? Have a second computer running 24/7 that can host a ftp server.

Make money? I was out of pocket for this for 80% of the last two years. Hit some hard times recently and had to stop paying for it but if you look back a page or two a couple people already picked up the slack. If you can mirror the files, go for it.

Sorry, checked that link earlier also but didn't realise it was a second folder with the manual i was looking for in it.

Might download everything and place it on the server computer so we have another place where they are avaliable.

P.S The madness will never end i looks like. Ended up buying my 5th 3wheeler yesterday.
