Im going to look at a 83 185s later this week, the guy says it doesnt run, has compression not sure if the tires hold air, plastic is good has a honda trailer hitch and a aftermarket front suspension included. I guess its got the stock front end on it now. Hes asking 200 bucks for it. I just bought a non runnning 200X for 200 but you dont alway get the great deals, So is 200 out of line? Jim

200 might be a little steep. Not sure though. I just sold my 1983 185s three weeks ago for 400. No cracked plastic, tires held air, motor ran great no smoke, and perfect seat. I paid 400 for it also. But I have never seen aftermarket front suspension for a 185. That might be worth a bit. Pick it up and get a rear suspension kit for it!

The aftermarket front suspension would most likely be the front suspension off of an early model 200s, for $200, I would probably go for it.

I would get it. Just put in some 'Slime' and those thorns will be sealed. Next, clean the carb and add gas. (which may be why it doesnt run)

i paid 200 for my non running klt 200. but it was complete and just needed a piston.(supposedly) still waiting on the cylinder to come back from being bored out. so we shall see. i would say buy it. its only 200 bucks. i have paid 300 just for a 82 250r seat , used.

I bought a 200S last month for 45 bucks, the guy thought is was a 110! didn't run, installed a new stator and fired right up filled the tires and rode it. If the guy calls I am definetly going to look at it. I think if the plastic is decent and the tires arent cracked apart I'll probably go for it. Jim

Post a picture of the "aftermarket front suspension" and I'm sure one of us could tell you wether it is aftermarket or not. I have a weld on and a bolt on 185s suspension, so I am a little familiar with them and also several different types of aftermarket front suspensions.

Well Im kinda bummed, the guy never called back yet. I know of another I saw in a back yard at a yard sale, the kid told me its his moms since a long time ago. and didnt think it was for sale, this thing is sitting on three flats, torn seat, cracked plastic, needing rings. I left my number anyway. Jim

well you lose some and you win some. I just found a 250R advertised locally for 200 bucks the top end was siezed, I called the guy and told him can I come over and buy it. He started explaining the problems with it and said dinner was cooking, I told him I just wanted to pay him and load it up. He opens his garage door and the darn thing is all there! And the coolest part, I think my enthusiasm got the better of him and he told me just give him 150 and enjoy! Picture is in the trikesylvania forum.
