This new "ebay" started on Friday all though most of the auctions were not yet updated. I think it's about time, especially if it cuts down the B.S. 2nd chance offers....

should help with the running up of auctions as well

Yes some of the changes are nice. I'm sure it will help with all of the fake second change scams. I think it opens up the way for shill bidders to have a hayday. Now you don't know who your bidding against. As long as it helps it's great.

I think it might be for auctions of a certain amount or categories. I am not 100% on that though.

Ya a lot of reading there. I don't really like the new policy though. They can still hide the shill. Shiller can just retract their bid if they end up getting highest bid.

I'm not sure I like this....I've been on ebay a long long time and seen them go through many changes. I understand what they are trying to accomplish here but I don't think its a good idea, at all. Shill bidding is fixing to go through the roof to the extent you wont even be able to purchase anything.

When some one or a friend bids up their own auctions. Just bidding to get the price higher.

Perhaps the way to fix the shill bidding problem is put some very hard lined rules on bid retractions? Only allowed to retract with approval from ebay? Or better yet, require approval from the runner up bidder before the person could retract :naughty: Now THAT would be awesome.

Well if people run stuff up to high it wont sell and you'll see the relist of rare parts phenomenom....they eventually have to sell it......for what a real person will pay

I think there is a possibility of the reverse effect.....people will ...already do......have the feeling they are about to get screwed and hold off bidding until the very very end.

Thats how this would be solved....DONT BID and they cant run you up

I have heard people talking about the fact that they wont bid or bid at the very end....

Buckle our seat belts and wait and see
