Well I bought a cr60 engine, frame, swinger, fork's, tripples. I have an extra Zinger frame, tank, plastic. I will start combining the 2 frame's tomorrow. I will use the front pivot section of the cr swinger. I will use a 86 200x rear swingarm section, axle carrier, & axle. I hope all goes well, but there Is alway's something that won't go according to plan. I will post up pic's as I make progress.

Isn't an X axle going to be kinda wide? Sounds like it'll be a BA little rig when it's done.

Keep us updated on this one. I'm very interested to see the outcome. I want to do a similar project with a cr80 engine.

I think the 200x axle will be perfect. It's narrower than a 250r axle & quite a bit smaller In diameter & lighter. I might have to add some weight to the front end to make It fly flat, but what ever It take's.

Raffa, I really want disc rear brakes & the Honda style chain adjustment.

ahhhh, the mad scientist back at work.it's too bad we live 3 hours away from each other or we would building some crazy chit nonstop.or maybe it's a good thing, lol.already get in trouble for being in the garage for 8-10 hours at a time.

good luck jason,i am sure it'll turn out great!

Are you using the cr 60 forks or other ones?

The 200x actually doesnt have the concentric chain adjuster like most Hondas. But what you can do is run a 200x axle in an 83-84 250R carrier (which is what I did on my 500R) then you've got the small narrow axle and a real chain adjustment system and not that sliding swingarm deal the 200x uses.

The '86 200x does use the concentric adjuster.

Jason, Are you just going to cut and widen the CR triples?

Billy, I will be useing a 86 200x rear swingarm section on the cr60. On another thread I'm trying to find out about a bigger sprocket for the 500 with a 85 200x axle In It.

Thefox, Yes I was gunna widen the stock CR tripples, but I ran Into a slight problem. With the zinger tank & top frame section on the Cr frame the steering stem will be to low. I don't think the stock cr fork's will give me enough ground clearance (to short). So I might modifi some 200x tripples & use the longer fork's not quite sure yet. I need to sit everything on & make sure It all clear's. I will have to bend the pipe down a little to clear the zinger tank. So far It has'nt been real bad. I will post up more pic's later.

Here are a few pic's of my progress. Got the top section put on so the tank fit's, also had to shorten the pipe about 1/2" so It will clear the tank. Welded the subframe on, so the plastic will fit. I will work on the swinger soon. so I can figure out my ride height. Then I can set the rake & figure out what I'll do for the tripple's. I just sat the cr fork's on to see how they would look. It wont sit that high so they look kinda goofy.

Jason - you are a mad man - I am loving this project. Those boys of yours are lucky to have you to build them these "Hi - Tech" racing trikes.

The competition is really going to be dreading it when the Hall family comes into Smith Road next year.. Can you say "Clean Sweep!" That reminds me. Is Sandy going to race the 200X in the womens trike class next year?

Jason Hall
12-04-2006, 08:25 PM
Yes she wont go to Smith Rd without racing something. I need to get the 200x built though :wondering.

I really need 2 86-87 200x axle carrier's. Come on guy's If ya got an extra, I will buy It.

1- for the cr60-zinger.
1- for sandys 86 200x.

I believe there's a couple on ebay. I didn't know that they were that high priced.

Got some more done on the 60. Finally finished up the tripples. I was gunna mod the origional tripples, but the top one was aluminum & the bottom was steel. So I made them out of steel so they would balance the weight out with the heavy rear axle (I hope). I will build the swinger this weekend. Then she will be rollin. I removed the rear subframe, cause I need to cut off some tubes & make It bolt on Instead of welding It. I figured I will use TRX 250r handlebar mounts so I can bolt them on & be able to adjust them front to rear. Here's a coupl pic's of the tripples.

Jason if you find that the front doesn't have enough rake after you lower to ride height, you may want to try flipping that axle to leading.

That little thing is going to be sweet. What's Jacob think of it?

Jason Hall
12-21-2006, 05:49 PM
Jacob Is real excited about It & can't wait to ride It. My buddy's making the front pivot section for the swingarm. I need those pieces to make It roll this weekend. I need to order a sprocket so I can mod It to fit the 200x axle. Then were closer to riding It. With the axle leading It does'nt look right, but we'll see what happens when I get the swingarm built.

New guys, this build has been finished and his boy(s) have MX raced it and drag raced it at TrikeFest. Awesome piece of work. I'd imagine tehre are some pics on the site somewhere.

You can catch a video here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qD-7TQ-V-pE) to see the ATC85R and Zinger in the MX race. I don't have any video of the drags...

Jason Hall

Yes I used the stock zinger wheels and tires. I adapted the stock zinger hubs to some 200x hubs so they would fit the stock 200x axle.

That thing is fast as hell to. I saw his two boys at TF mop up on alot bigger trikes. I would love to have a trike like one of those two for my son.
