We just aquired a free dishwasher, and we already have one inside, so we want to hook this one up in the garage. Should i use solvent in it instead of water? and hook the drain to a pail to be reused?

Would that ruin seals in the pump?

probably would be a good idea to disconnect the element?

Or should i just use water

Let me know what ya think. ive got a spot picked out for it already

use a water based degreaser, that with the hot water should do the trick

I wont have hot water going to it. its either solvent and no element, or cold water and element

It'd probably work fine for awhile, but the solvents will evenutally kill the seals, and break up the guts in the unit.

ya, I sneek some stuff in the house every now and then too. I would hate to see the look on the old ladys face if I got busted.

I would hate to see my parts get tossed if I tried something like that in our dishwasher. I think my lady just kill my at that point. :D

if you use water, you could try concentrated simple green, has worked pretty good for me. (dont use it directly on crome though, ive had some stuff take on a greenish tinge, came off but still a pain) dilute it first
