my neighbor go tthis from his freind for free, it runs, and he want me to make it look decent (plastic,etc,) I knwo its a big moto 4 but unkown what year or size. I need to know so I can order the correct part for it, thanks!!!:welcome:

Yamaha YFM 225 4 moto. Can you type out the vin #?

They made the 225 Moto-4 from 86 to 89 if memory serves right. There were also some Moto-4 250's with the same body work if I am not mistaken.

TAKE THE VIN NUMBER TO A YAMAHA DEALER AND THEY SHOUD BE ABLE TO TELL YOU YEAR AND MAKE. WHEN ORDERIGN PARTS. but to me i belive it looks liek an early possibly a 350 they had before the big bear. i dont recal the 225 havign a dual range tranny. nd they only made them a few years .

my dads 225 moto4 has dual range.
looks like a 225 but ive never seen a 350 one so im not sure.

looks like a 225 to me too. im pretty sure they had dual range. my brother just got one and it has low, high, and reverse.


i need some info guys. i need timing settings and gap specs. please help me if you know anything. and just so this thread dont get jacked pm me if you have any info.

its aight man! go ahead and jack my thread like no tomorow its ok... lol, man I havent screwed with this pile of parts since these pics, I ordered early 225 plastic and they didnt fit so I totaly muffed that up, so as far as I know I need a starter solonoid and a battery then this beast will drive, but...im to lazy to do that, as far as info on this beast you'd be better off buying a good manual.
