Just got back from a buddy's in VA a lil while ago.
I haven't seen him in a year or so. He has always had fast cars and bikes. He took me for a ride in his 68 or 69 Mercury Montego tonight. What a hoot!
It's got a Bennett Racing 392 with a protech supercharger. He said it dyno'd at 904HP at the flywheel on pump gas.
I took some video (poor quality and at night) but I managed to keep it somewhat focused on the gauge cluster. He didn't stop and use the trans brake as we were on rte 66 near Marshall, VA, but it was most impressive. I'll have to work on getting the vid down to an uploadable size. After watching the video, it's wild how the speedo went from 45mph to around 110 in about 4 seconds.
So far he has only run it in the 1/8 mile at a local track. His times have been mid 6s at 114mph. He doesn't have an NHRA driver's license and some other paperwork type thing he will need to run at a 1/4 mile strip that are required for cars running 9.99 or less.
