250x frame mod

some pics of how to stretch a 250x frame 2 inches. im not done yet but this is how much got done in day one.

this is the 5th or 6th frame i stretched, with a plus 2 swingarm it ends up the same length as a 400ex...or slightly shorter then a trx 250r.

hey, looks good, is that a spare frame? Would you happen to have a spare steering support? Keep posting, so we can check it out.

its my brothers frame. if your tall the 250x feels to short like a blaster so thats why we do this.

you need the steering stem clamp? if so id check on ebay

hey, no the part on the bottom of the steering shaft, between the frame rails.

today i got it done except for the shock mount and fender brackets

i always tilt the tubes in front of the motor forward so if you put a 350x motor in the header will fit better. (i like to shorten the header instead of making it longer to go around the tubes)

Looks good. Do they end up being as strong or stronger than stock?

well the first on we built was for my buddy and thats 9 years ago and its still going with no cracks or anything.

Hey, tells us a little bit about the guesseting you've done. i notice a few things you've added here and there and would like to know more. Anything else you gusset that might not be noticeable?

i use 16 gauge 1'' square tube

16 gauge 3/4 for some gussets

this frame is still using the stock motor and its not cracked at all so im not doing anything to the rear of the frame except for the foot peg area

when im putting a 350x motor in i cut the rear upper motor mount off(the left one) and weld threaded inserts in to the frame and use a bolt on mount

there are a few weak spots to look at on these frames, normally around the shock mount and around the tank
