I just picked up an 88 250x-350x conversion quad. It has a powroll 6mm stroker kit, with an 86mm and a 13.0 to 1 compression piston. It has also been modded with a lowering kit and extended axels. I paid roughly 500 bucks for it due to the stuck exhaust valves, not quite sure what happened there:eek: . Have the motor down at the local shop now, the guy said the bottom end is fine. The pistin is ok too, he just wants to do the head over with sone new valves and seals.(having the head ported and polished while its there:naughty: ) Anyway I was wondering if it will keep up with all the new sport quads out there, any guesses.

Post some pics. It should do just fine against new sport quads. Maybe not the 450s, but the 400s and down, fine.

If the valve's/seat's are'nt cut 3 ways I would suggest that.... Being that much compression I would assume they already are though!! What kinda piston is it ?? I'd like too see pic's of the head when he gets it all done ,if you get a chance ... before assembly !!

Everything is powroll they sell it all in kits, even the cam is a powroll race grind, i cant wait to see how it runs. I just sent all of the plastics out to be repainted. This is turning out to be a fun project so far, i just want to get it done and see what its capable of.

depending on how you can ride, i would say you could definitely be competitive on it.. by all means i would leave the flat track setup on it, thats where i think that quad belongs.. i say this because of the geometry of the 250x frame, the short wheelbase, not too heavy, the ergonomics of the quad, the motor etc. etc. I would love to see it in person, heck i would love to own it if i already didnt have too much as it was...

If you can ride you'll do just fine in trails. I had a 400ex and could keep up with anyone I rode with in the trails on a 450 quad. Drags is gonna be a different story though.

Cool so I should keep the flat track set up then, should i just add some skid plates for trail riding then? What about tires? Will this be able to keep up with banshees and maybe raptors? Everybody and their brother has one of them around here:rolleyes:

The dude I bought it off of he had a hard time keepin up with a yfz 450 on the track, but it had some mod work done. I guess ill have to see how it does when its done.

Does it have the 350X swinger on it??? The question might be, can you keep the front end down..lol Sounds awesome man, I've never rode the conversion, but I know the 250X I rode on time that was built up pretty good.. wasn't even close to a 350X. Have fun man.. sounds like a Ballzy ride
