yeah i tore the trans out of my 79 chevy truck. slips and grinds alot going forward and reverse was a thing of the past. this sucks butt. prolly need a transfer case too.

Automatic? Think it's rebuildable????? If you get a new one or get it rebuilt, be sure to gear it to suit your needs and maybe throw a shift kit or some goodies like that in there!!!!!:naughty: :naughty:

Is Uniontown in eastern PA? If you go on NJFourwheelers.com and go to the forums(njfourwheelers.com/forums) theres alllways plenty of chevy stuff on there for sale...and transmissions and tacases are always up there...
if its a stick, i believe theres a sm465 mated to a np205 up there now for sale
of course you can only post if you register, but theres a lot more to see when your logged in, you only see the classifieds when your not logged in, also if they dont have the trans you need on there put an ad in the wanted section and someone will probly have one. Unless your looking for a freshly rebuilt one, but someone might have one laying around on there.Theres a turbo 400 mated to a 203 on the 2nd page of parts for sale ads for $350

You shouldnt need a transfer case. They are very tough, and there is no clutch packs in them to wear out (unless yours is AWD).

my transfer case is bad too.... my 4wd drive only worked in hi loc
