Well, After talking to the guy about 2 hours from me a few times I decided to go to his house and look at a couple 350X projects he had sitting around. About 50 miles into my trip on the NYS thruway I was cruising about 70MPH and my 94 toyota just shut off!!. I popped the hood and discovered the fuse to my EFI was blown. I took the fuse out of my dome light and put that in the EFI spot and that blew as soon I turned the key on. Nedless to say I was bummed out big time. A few minutes later a DOT truck pulled up behind me and called a wrecker to bring me home. Wrecker finally shows up about an hour later, loads my truck and brings me home. I thought I was going to die driving home with the rollback driver cause he was doing about 80MPH in the truck which drove like a lumberwagon.

The bill to get my truck towed was $270 but luckilly the wrecker driver let me use my mother in-laws AAA.

Needles to say I never got a chance to buy the 350x but maybe next weeekend. I really hate when vehicles break down.

Nothing wrong with going 80. So long as he keeps it straight. Then again, if he rolled it and totalled your truck, you would get one that runs and not have to fix it. That would be great. You did have your seatbelt (just in case) on right? How about a helmet? I think the guy would have gotten the message if you put it on and stared at him.:naughty:

that sucks, the worst part about buying something is waiting. now you have to wait even longer.

do you have a 22re or a v6? i had the same prob;em on my 85 4runner with a 22re and my alternator wires touched the exhaust manifold and melted them causing the short.

i have 75 or more toyota trucks for parts of you figure out what it needs. that section of the wiring plugs into the main harness buy the air box

I have the 22re 4 banger. The truck is down at my buddies shop so I will let him know that. I cant believe you have over 75 trucks for parts. I have had 6 toyotas and will never buy any other brand truck

yep i have 75 for parts. i sell parts on ebay my name is "toyota_parts_dude". about 60 or so are 4x4's

was the truck overheating? i had that blow the efi fuse also. the collant hose above the alternator had a pin hole and was spraying on the alternator and shorted it out once.

let me know what part you need and i can ship it to you. i have daily UPS pickup at my house. will save you money over new stuff.

if he has a 5 speed 2wd model he should be able to get up to about 90 to 100 mph. so he should not get runover that quick:lol:

I have an 88 toyota with a 22re 275,000 miles and still running well... the body needs a bit of work, but the truck NEVER lets me down!
