I'm in the market for new tires for my 250r and need some advice. What would people suggest for this machine. I currently have some dirt dogs and don't really like them, they are 22x11x8. I was thinking a little wider would be better but not sure the brand. Let me know what your suggestions would be. Thanks

Scott

Yup thats the main Question, it all depends on the riding you do.

I pretty much like trail riding but every now and then we will do some power lines(mud) and other times in the pits.

20 inch shredder RA or XC (the 6 ply) I love em. Have Xc's on my 350X, more of a trail/MX/occasional mud/snow tire.

... Shredders are a good choice for an all around tire - but if you like riding powerlines, than you probably would want a 22" tire rather than a 20" to keep you at the same top speed as the stock 22" on the '83R's. I'm a big fan of All-Tracks or Dirt Devils also as good, long lasting, all around tires.

I never thought i'd say this but kenda scorpions work pretty damn good in the exact conditions you mentioned. The tri z that I bought came with these tires and I wasn't expecting much from them. But today I went on a poker run with the Z and the trails ranged from power lines to mud holes to hard pack and these tires worked quite nicely.

I do like the look of the shredders, they make a machine look pretty mean. I have some Dirt Dogs now and don't like them at all, they look like they would do good all around but they seem to fail me everywhere.
