I think I have a brand new one and want to know if its worth keeping or does it need to be blown out?

they dont work that good. there was a DG pipe on my 86 trx250r when i bought it and the Bills pipe i sold you was a big time improvement.

But was it a Gary Denton Special and not a run of the mill DG pipe?

no offense but they still did not work that good. i raced back around 1991-95 and nodody ran that pipe or had anything good to say about them. gary denton even did not use that pipe he ran a LRD back then.

That's what I thought Jason. The pipe does look like the "Gary" special but the expansion chamber is so close to stock I can't see the improvement. Still looking for a LRD silencer to mate to the Bills pipe! Once a get that I will be in business...

dg 2-stroke pipes are nothing more than modified stockers

i disagree. dg pipes are good pipes, but they are designed to be no more than an oem replacement and is nothing more than a revised and cleaned up OEM design. they run great and dont fall apart. they arenace pipes so you cant compare them to race companies.

...that's pretty much a re-worded statement of what i said.

modified stocker = revised and cleaned up oem design

just sayin'

they dont give much of a improvment over stock there not worth getting. my 86 trx had one on it when i bought it. spend the little bit extra and get a LRD or Paul Turner mid range/ mx pipe and it'll work way better for trail riding.

i got a Bill's pipe cheap that i sold to 1 deadpresident. it was a big improvment over the DG.. the LRD mid range is way better yet.

Personally i have never had a problem with DG products. Always high quality and priced fair. And they still make new pipes for much of our old iron, where others have cut us off. I've had some pretty fast bikes, trikes, and quads, "all 2 stroke" with DG exhausts and can't really find anything to *Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited* about.
