Yeah the guy that bought it, has been buying up anything Rotax or Can-Am for awhile. I heard about him from a contact in Canada.

Bill I really thought you would snatch that one up, being so close to home and all. Do you have any of the early wide-tire models?

j.a.bombardier is the name of the founder of bombardier, must be a big fan of the company or maybe a relative? 5000 is a lot of money but atleast two people thought it was worth close to that.

I was a bidder and went up to 3150.00 and sold one of my extra tiger projects to fund it. I would love it!!! , but I came to the conclusion that I need to finish my Tiger line up and the Cagiva first ;) especially when it went past 3200.00 and it really started climbing the last 2 minutes of the auction.

Who can pick out the differences I see besides the tripples, front wheel and front fender (BTW) that is a tiger front fender just diffferent).

BTW I will be talking to the person who bought it as he bought the extra tiger project I listed with a BIN that went under the radar here.

front brake rotor and the mount is different then mine. the upper mount on the brake looks like a clamp or a u-bolt. Also forks are not painted.

Looks like the guy has a pretty nice 250R in the background of one of the pics.

Bill the biggest differance I see is the Tripple trees and the wide front end the tripple trees have 2 additional nipples sticking out on the front edge like for a # plate

Yes the tank has that extra "camels hump" in it that no others have, The rear fenders are definetly from an earlier/different MOLD as well. They have a longer appearance and where they meet up with the tank on both sides are pointy not flat like all the other later tigers....check out my tiger page there is a scan of the early tigers and a picture of the later fenders I have pictured and you can see the difference. I believe this is one reason this Tiger went so high..... its hard enough to find the more common tiger plastics in usable shape let alone a complete rare early model with all of those different style parts in unmolested shape...with a tiger 250 the motor is the least of your worries for a restore (can am still has many parts and enough motors are out there) The TIGER turtle shell is the prize in this one
