Guys,

It may be time to let my 250r go. I am interested in getting something I can ride. This thing is too clean and just sits, and sits. I know that I may regret it 20 years from now but I want to put it on ebay.

What do you think these things will go for on there. I am not trying to pimp this bike...but trying to figure this out.

Darius

If anyone who wants a nice collectors 250R please send me a PM.

I know its not my decision but I would it if this thing could just sit in a collection of some sort.

It would make me feel good. Its not PERFECT but a minimal amount of work would get really close to showroom...I think.

It seems (to me anyways) that ebay has cooled off as of late. If your not hard up for cash I would wait a while.

Must be gas prices!

I noticed that as well regarding the ATC 250r's. Yes, I guess I will wait. I just don't ride this thing.

I really want a bike to ride and have fun with. All mine turn into 'collector' bikes. Not like Orange County's stuff...but nice enough to say, "Oh crap" when you put a scratch in the plastic.

Easy $5,000............

for a trike in that condition I would have to agree with the dogg here on that, that is super clean, but let me ask you this, if you sold it for 5000 and boust a trx 450(new) for 6700, that is technicaly "mint" becouse it came off the showroom floor and rode it, why not infact just ride that R? I would. This brings me down to a heated debate I had with a bunch of car customizers when I owned my shop, why would you want to restore something "now" when you can make it your own? there are plenty of restored peices to drool over allready, so instead of having a show peice taking up space and worrying about scratching it up F'n ride that beast! put some differnt tires on, better exhaust and have a blast! when the time comes that I feal like I want to spend 5000 on soemthing, I would buy one like yours and then proceed to do it how I wanted it my way anyway, no fun in being stock. Guys like OC and Vintage, hold it down for the perfect ones, so I just say YAMAHONDAMAN

Edog I think you would be looking between $1600 and $2000, just my opinion.

Hey Darius, is that thing original?? Its beautiful for sure!

I agree with preserving it. I feel something that nice and that old should stay that way and be preserved for future generations. There are still thousands of trikes in back yard and junk yards just waiting for salvation.

So Darius, are you definitely planning on getting another 250R that you can ride?

I've actually been tempted to sell my other trikes and get one or even two more 250R's lately.

No I would sell it and just keep the Tri z. I want to get another bike.

i would not sell it right now unless it was to a collector paying top dollar. the market is on a low swing. i would love to see it go for $5000 but on ebay i am guessing $3200.

I thought so to. We are on a low swing. I really want it to go to a collector...rather than a thrasher.

So if anyone on here is interested send me a PM.

Thanks guys! (and gals!)

Why not rag the Zilla and keep the 250R in minty fresh shape?

Darius1502

The zilla is better shape than the R.

I am planning on getting a KTM 440 two stroke that I ride more.

I think you will get more on e-bay than what most people will say here. You know what you want for it, put it on with your reserve price and see what happens. If no one wants it for that price, you can keep it. Which is what I would do. Nice 250r!!!

Darius1502

Does ebay charge you if you reserve is not met?

Dammit!

Yes. Whatever your insertion fee is, you have to pay that if it sells or not. If it does sell there's an additional fee on top of that.

As a person that is really into trikes, i have to chim in on this one. Darius, my first question is - was it restored or is it original. That will be a big factor.

If you really wanted to get rid of it for top dollar and since its so nice, maybe take it down to the local big honda atv dealer and say $7000 firm and tell them "you'll never see one in this condition again for their showroom display" - see if they bite. Image that, then you could visit it. My local yamaha dealer has a 85 tri-z hanging up on display , a very nice original but not perfect by any means. I take my business their just to see it.:)
