oh ya, underdrive pullies just slow everything down right? have you been having charging problems at idle, i have herd that sometimes with those pullies it drains power when at idle

The UD pullies give it more power lol. Its been fine at any RPM.

Sweet induction hood, and I agree with everyone, that "translucent" hood made me do a double take! Do they make Lexan hoods for cars? You'd think they would, they're superlight.

Hey honda dude....get rid of those Turbine wheels, those things are hideous!! I got a Stang too. 1987 GT...5 speed. Picked it up for 250 bucks....only mod worth talkin about is an electric fan. Oh, I got Pony wheels too. Runs 9.40's at the track tho, not bad for a stocker :P

i got about every bolt on mod they make for my 94 and yes on a 5.0 some underdrive pulleys do drop to like 9 volts at idle

what i did was use the stock (smaller) alt pulley to keep it spinning fast

Sorry yes mine runs 9.40's in the 1/8'th. Spins all the way through first gear...I need stickier tires. I'm about to make em wider too, gonna go up to 255/50/16s from the 245/50's I've got now.

Mustangs...Mustangs....Mustangs I think I know just a little about them. Around my house we have about 7. Check out the the cover on the new Muscle Mustang and Fast Ford that is my cousins silver 01' Cobra. I think they have a misprint though and have it listed as a 99'. I have a 88' GT with an aluminum flywheel, lightened clutch and pressure plate, 3.55 gears(driving to school), exhaust, 5 lug conv. and 97 Cobra wheels, aluminum underdrive pullies, Pro 5.0 shifter, and some other stuff I am forgetting. I have heads, headers, and intake and I am looking for roller rockers and a cam. I will also be swaping over to mass air since no one can tune a speed density computer. When the cash comes a Novi will also be sitting infront of my engine. Mustangs are in abundance around my house.:Bounce

Ha HA HA if you find a stock Mustang that will runs 9.40's in the 1/4 let me know I will take one. How are you launching your car???4000 rpm and poping the clutch?? What gears do you have??

Ahh yes 'stangs, me and Jason have a little knowledge about those :D I like the blue, that's a nice color on that 2valve. You going to paint the hood or leave it black? I'm actually kind of a oddball in that I kind of like the turbines for the unassuming stock look. My Silver '01 Cobra is on the cover of the new August issue of Muscle Mustang & Fast Fords!!! I also have a '87 GT that we used to race at the NMRA races in the Factory Stock class. We are not racing this year or probably again because we are tired of rules changes all the time. I think your 9.40's in the 1/8 would come out to somewhere in the 14's in the 1/4. I would not try to get bigger tires for your car, just get better tires. Jason has had really good luck with his Nittos and I'm not talking about the Dr's just the regular 555's, they seem to hook pretty good. Some of your spin might be coming from the way you are launching your car. Let us know if you have a gear in the car and at what rpm you are trying to launch at and maybe we can help you out. Take it easy.

I don't know about you Goku, but I am getting some street legal slicks for my stock 16" wheels. I'm looking at the M/T ET street radial, and a few others. Not 100% sure what I'm gonna get though.

jclark23

Just make sure there is no chance of rain when you have the ETs on cause it will get real interresting if it does start raining.

I have stock gears(2.73) and I launch at about 1500-2000RPMs. I've even tried rolling into the throttle and it still just spins. And to the other guy, I said in the ONE EIGTH mile hehe. Good Lord I don't have nearly enough money to even think of running 9's in the quarter.

Have you tried to hold it at 2000RPMs and EASE off the clutch. When I had 2.73's I had it up to about 3000rpms and it worked pretty good while lightly letting off the clutch. I wish I had the money to buy a new one but the money barrel can't support all I want!!!:beer
