Any guesses on how high this nos 250r motor (http://ads.auctionads.com/pagead/link_4c69d42cf257d534ec74_0_http%3A//cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NOS-OEM-Honda-Engine-TRX250r-ATC250r-trx-atc-250r-motor_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ43977QQihZ001QQit emZ110140880220QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW) will go. auction says it was never started and I believe it or some reason.

MY guess is 1200 because I watched a blown bottom end go for 365.00 last night.

A virgin motor and he sends the cylinder out for porting? I wouldn't have done that. Kinda sounds like it needs to be reassembled too by that base gasket comment. It is NICE though. I'd be bidding if I could afford it.

Edit: he got the year wrong too. Said it came out of an '86.

that guy doesn't look all that honest. Why would you send a new motor out for porting????, he has the year way off too. That motor doesn't look ported either, it looks stock, what ported motor doesn't have the intake track polished atleast??? I believe it is a nos crate motor. I was looking at his other auctions and the one for the 310 cylinder caught my eye, "The bore now is 72.5mm and it needs to be bored now. It has plenty of life left on this cylinder ", I wonder if he knows that there is 3 bores left in the sleeve and it needs to be bored also???? Depending on how bad the bore is, it may have to go to 73mm leaving 1 bore left, how could he say there is plenty of life in this cylinder????

Correct me if I'm wrong but weren't the '85 motors black and the '86 motors grey??

So what I am gathering is that it's not really an 86 and I'm a moron who should ask you guys before I buy anything ever again :D . I honestly thought it was a good deal. guess I was wrong.

It may end up being a great deal. It is one of those motors that were taken out when the trikes were destroyed. You can tell by the cut stator wires. It would be worth more if he didn't open it up and have it ported though. Just the fact that he has the year wrong doesn't mean much money wise.

I doubt the motor is ported also, maybe he is just saying that. Just by what can be seen of the intake, it can't be ported.

I'm thinking that isn't a recent picture. The comment about including the base gasket leads me to believe that he probably did take top end up off to get it ported but hasn't put it back together yet. Just speculating though.

You guys are reading to far into it, he said he took the cylinder off to send it to have it ported, never said he did it ;)

A winner is you!

The porting was never done, I just removed the cylinder. I just have the bolts hand tight, I never reassembled it because I planned on eventually porting it. I just figured I would throw in an OEM gasket. If you have any other questions let me know. Thanks.
